Taehyung knotted his tie lazily as he watched the coffee drip from the machine into his cup. As well as his casino, he had several businesses throughout Seoul, including restaurants, nightclubs and even a florist. Anything that allowed him to launder money without being too suspicious. From time to time, he had to go there himself, to make sure that everything was fine, that none of his employees were diverting his money, or any other bullshit. Since Jeongguk was working, and would certainly be doing overtime to make up for the Friday he'd lost, he'd decided to go to one of his nightclubs today.

The two lovers had only just made up, and above all made their relationship official, but they still didn't have time to see each other. Taehyung felt like laughing at himself. To find himself so attached to someone was laughable to him. Normally, it was other people who went after him, not the other way round. Jeongguk had real powers, he could enchant anyone he wanted.

Once his coffee was ready, he grabbed the cup and brought it to his lips, swallowing a long gulp of the hot drink, while taking his phone out of his pocket. A satisfied smile suddenly appeared on his lips as he caught a glimpse of the share price of K&Co, Kang Minho's company. In just a few days, they had completely fallen. All it had taken was a simple phone call to Taehyung. And that was only the beginning. For the time being, Minho could still get back on his feet. The gangster would make sure he didn't.

As he quietly sipped his drink, leaning against his kitchen counter, the door to his flat suddenly opened with a loud bang, almost startling him, and soon Jimin burst into his kitchen, looking alert and panicked. Taehyung frowned, putting his mug back on the worktop, and gave the blond boy a few seconds to catch his breath.

"Is something wrong?" he finally asked, seeing that Jimin had calmed down a little.

Jimin straightened up, anxiously putting his suit jacket back on, and looked worriedly at his boss.

- Yeah, we a problem. The guys you assigned to protect Jungkook, they called."

Taehyung tensed, his frown deepening. His heartbeat quickened, the worry now also in his eyes. If something had happened to Jeongguk, he wouldn't be able to stay calm. He'd set the whole world on fire if anyone dared touch his queen.

"What happened, Jimin?" Taehyung asked, his tone cold and authoritative, unable to hide his fear and anger.

"Jungkook was arrested by the police."

When Jeongguk left the police station, it was already getting dark. He was furious, and for good reason: when the two policemen had given him his belongings back, including his phone, the first thing he knew was that he had received an email from his company's human resources department. In short, he had been fired. There was a risk of a "bad image for the company". He wanted to scream. If those bloody police officers had acted within the law, he wouldn't have to go through all this. He really hesitated to go back and hit them. At least they'd have a good reason to arrest him.

He was pulled from his thoughts when his phone vibrated. He looked down, the screen lighting up automatically, displaying the new notification. A message from Taehyung.

"I'm here."

The singer's gaze immediately swept the street, coming to rest on a black car parked a few metres away. He recognised his lover's car, and didn't waste a single second rushing toward it. He could feel tears of frustration burning his eyes, and when he opened the door, he threw himself into the arms of Taehyung, who was waiting for him in the back seat.

The gangster immediately locked the singer in a tight embrace. Taehyung had also been under a lot of stress. He had been waiting outside the police station for several hours, holding back the urge to rush inside and free his queen.

"Tae..." Jeongguk cried, letting out the tears he'd been holding back throughout his interrogation.

He'd been scared. He'd found himself all alone, trapped. He'd felt weak, powerless. He didn't want to go to prison. He was terrified. He wanted to stay with Taehyung, to wake up beside him every morning.

"I'm sorry, dove..." the gangster whispered in his ear. "I should have been more careful... I thought they had absolutely no way of tracing you... Their investigation was going nowhere..."

To his great surprise, Jeongguk shook his head, without removing his face from his chest, into which it had been lodged when he arrived.

"It wasn't about the murders Tae... someone... someone told them we were dating... it was the drug squad..."

Taehyung frowned. Someone had talked? Yes, he'd revealed Jeongguk's existence to his casino customers, but was there anyone brave enough to betray Kim Taehyung? Apparently there was. But the gangster certainly wasn't going to let him get away with it. His gaze naturally met Jimin's in the rear-view mirror, and the little blond nodded silently, already knowing what his boss wanted from him. He'd find the traitor and hand him over on a silver platter.

"It's all right, darling, I'm here now... I'll take care of everything, I promise, they won't come near you again..."

He felt Jeongguk move in his arms, and soon the little singer separated from him, wiping his tear-red eyes and stuffy nose.

"I've lost my job because of them..." he continued to whine, sounding like a child (which Taehyung found extremely adorable, by the way). "You're going to find out who told them, aren't you?"

Taehyung secured his hands on his baby's hips and began to massage them tenderly.

"Of course, darling. And when I've found them, you can choose yourself their punishment."

Jeongguk nodded in satisfaction, rubbing his eyes one last time before lying back on top of Taehyung, the gangster wrapping his arms around his waist.

"Dove?"

"Hm?"

"Do you want us to take care of those policemen too?"

Jeongguk buried his face in the crook of Taehyung's neck, placing a light kiss on the gangster's slightly tanned skin.

"Won't that get us into trouble?"

"Not if I make them keep quiet."

Jeongguk thought for a moment. He knew it was irrational, that these policemen were doing their job, trying to arrest the biggest criminal in Seoul, but... he couldn't help being mad at them, and now that he had a way of getting revenge on the people who'd done him wrong, he didn't feel like stopping himself.

"Hm, all right."

Taehyung gave a satisfied smile, and hurried to find Jeongguk's lips, to kiss them languorously. They had both been scared, but fate had worked in their favour again. They were together again, and this time nothing could separate them.

"I'll probably be going to work at the cabaret full-time now... Will you come and see me?"

Taehyung kissed him again.

"Of course, darling."

I love when Tae think of Jeongguk as "his queen". It's so hot!🔥💕
