If I had to chose a song for this story, it would be One Of The Girls (especially Jennie's part) or Young And Beautiful by Lana Del Rey. Honestly, I wrote with story listening to these two songs❤

"Ah, I can't anymore..."

Soobin rubbed his face vigorously, lit only by the lamp on his desk, as night had just fallen, plunging the police station into darkness. Namjoon immediately looked up from the file he was working on and gave him a sympathetic smile.

"I too have the impression that these cases have no end."

Soobin dropped heavily into his chair, closing his own file with a slight air of disgust.

"I'll be honest with you, Chief, these robberies bore me to death. These guys operate in gangs and target areas where there's no police presence. There's virtually no chance we'll ever catch them. I don't see why we haven't closed this case already."

Namjoon sighed.

"I couldn't agree more. Especially after Jeon's murders, everything seems a bit bland. But it's our job, Soobin, we don't really have a choice..."

Soobin reluctantly agreed. It had been nearly six months since the case of the "obsessive criminal", as the newspapers had called him, had ended with the death of the killer, in this old school lost on the outskirts of Busan. The body was never found, but the pool of blood found next to Kang Minho's corpse and the testimonies of Kim Seokjin, Kim Namjoon and Choi Soobin were enough to prove that he had disappeared. As the presence of Kim Taehyung's gang had been proven, it was concluded that he had taken the body, as they had once been allies. The investigation went no further, and Namjoon decided to put an end to it for good that evening. Since then, the lives of the three men had returned to normal.

Namjoon took a quick look at the clock on the wall in front of him, and seeing that it was past 8pm, turned to his subordinate, who looked absolutely drained.

"Well, I think we'll stop here, Soobin. Go home and get some rest."

"Are you sure? I can stay a bit longer if I have to..."

However, Namjoon shook his head.

"No, it's fine. And I'm going to leave too, I'm meeting with Jin, he shouldn't be long now."

On hearing this information, a sly little smile appeared on Soobin's lips, and he arched an eyebrow as he looked at his superior.

"Oh, I see business is going rather well for you, boss!"

Namjoon's cheeks flushed immediately, and he looked away to avoid meeting Soobin's gaze.

"W-We're not together!" he defended himself rather awkwardly. "W-We just decided to see each other again for a bit, that's all..."

"Hm, if you say so..."

The young man's unconvinced tone only made Namjoon blush even more. He had this image of a serious and professional man at work, but he was not at all used to showing this sensitive side of his personality. And it was even harder to bear when he was teased about it.

He was pulled out of his thoughts when his phone vibrated, and it took him a quick glance to see that it was Seokjin.

"Has your knight in shining armour arrived, boss?" Soobin continued to tease him, holding back a laugh at the policeman's reactions.

Namjoon didn't answer, just stood up and grabbed his jacket.

"G-Good weekend, Soobin. See you on Monday."
