Chapter 21

Leilani's POV

Alex shut the door behind me and I was left with Cole who didn't seem to notice my presence.

"Hi." I greeted. "Hey, Lani."he said back, tapping the spot beside him on the couch. I joined him. I couldn't help but notice his room had the same decor as Alan.

Except the colours, whilst Cole's room is  blue and white themed. Alan's room is dark blue and black. I wonder what Alexander's room is like.

"You watch anime?" Cole asked me snapping me from my thoughts. "Only always." I responded. He showed me his phone. Oh. My. Moon goddess. He was watching death note.

"What episode are you on?" I asked not wanting to ruin anything for him. "I've watched it a million times, I'm just rewatching my favorite parts." He said.

We ended up talking about our favorite anime. The promised neverland being our all time favorite. I felt weird though. Like someone needed me.

Something was telling me to go look for Alex. It could be important. I excused myself and went out into the hallway. Alex was stood in front of my door looking lost in thought.

"Alex." I called. He didn't seem to hear me. I walked up to him and tapped his shoulder. I immediately retracted my arm when i felt sparks. He took in a sharp breath. Did he feel it too?

"Can we talk?"he asked. "Sure." I responded still confused. I opened my door letting him walk in before I followed. I shut the door behind me.

We sat at the edge of my bed and i quickly hid my scrapbook and gun under my pillow. I don't need him thinking I'm some creep who watches pictures of her family with a gun by her side.

"What do you want to talk about? "I asked him with a smile. "Lani, i know i may be coming off as a freak but i really do think you could be my mate." He said.

"Tell me you don't feel anything. "He said cupping my cheek in his hand. Crap. I do feel something...I'm not sure I want to though. I stayed still not wanting him to move his hand.

"What if I'm not?" I decided to ask although it was barely a whisper. "You are." He responded. He leaned in. Oh my goodness. Is he going to do what I think he's going to do?

"Don't you want to wait and be sure first?" I asked. "I'm already sure."he said looking me directly in the eyes. His ocean blue eyes pulled me in, i can't look away.

"May I? "He asked. I found myself nodding. I mean dad wanted me to be social, right? He leaned in and closed the space between us. Our lips touched. Even wattpad can't explain how amazing it was.

I felt sparks everywhere as i kissed him back. I'm so confused but i just know this is perfect. He pulled away.

"Fuck."he muttered. Okay a little less perfect. He isn't supposed to regret it immediately after. I looked at his eyes and saw them flickering from blue to black.

I read about this in the library at home. Alex's wolf is fighting for control but Alex is denying it. If i had my wolf maybe she could reason with him.

"Alex, I'm going to do something and i need you to forgive me,okay? " i said, reaching under my pillow. I grabbed my gun and hit him over the head, hard.

What? It's not like I wanted to hurt him. I needed to knock him out and i can't exactly do that with a pat on his head. That kiss was amazing, my first kiss. It was perfect. Well, up until the part where I knocked out my mate.

He'll wake up, right? He still has a pulse. I got up and dragged him on the bed properly so he'd be comfortable.

"Well aren't you a romantic?" I asked myself. Now you're talking to yourself. Great. There was a knock at my door.

I groaned and went to open the door. "Rise and shine." Kelly sang, her mood completely opposite of mine. "What's got you so grumpy? "She asked when i glared.

I opened the door wider for her to see for herself. She looked at Alex's unconscious body on my bed. "Oh i can come back later." She said with a wink as she turned to walk away. I grabbed her arm pulling her in.

I told her everything and she squealed. "Oh Lani your first kiss."she said. "Let's call Sophia and tell her." She said excitedly. "Umm Kelly, i knocked out your alpha."i stated.

"At least one boy gets knocked out when they train with one another. He'll wake up." She said waving her hand as if to dismiss the topic. "Kelly." I said.

"Fine we'll call her later. I'll get some ice. Put that gun away before you knock out more wolves. " she joked walking out. "Ha ha." I laughed sarcastically.

She later came back with the ice pad and handed it to me. I gently moved his head onto my lap and examined his head. Luckily, he wasn't hurt. I placed the ice on his head and slid away his hair from his forehead.

His hair is so freaking soft. I leaned back against the head rest and sighed. "What do you want to do while Alex, rests?" Kelly asked.

"That's one way to put it." I muttered. She shrugged. "Oh i know." She said getting up and running out to her room. She came back seconds later with her laptop.

She put on how i met your mother and we sat back and watched. I will never get enough of that show. I'm team Barney though. Kelly is team Ted.

I love Ted, just not with Robin. The laptop started to move and Kelly groaned because the laptop was on Alex. He started to stir awake. I gave her a warning look.

She removed the bowl of microwave popcorn she had on him as well. She went to make it when I asked for some aspirin for Alex. She set it on the nightstand and placed the laptop on the bed.

"What the hell, Lani?" He muttered sitting up. "I'm so sorry." I said handing him the aspirin and water.

"Well i should get going. I have an essay due on Monday. " Kelly lied hurriedly leaving with her laptop. She came back a second later and took the popcorn, making sure to wink before shutting the door.

"Are you okay? " i asked. "Yeah, sorry about that. It's hard to control. "He apologized. "Alex?" "Yeah."he responded. "I'm not sure about all this. I mean maybe we can wait?" I asked scared of rejection.

"I know, and I'll wait until you are ready." He said with a smile. "Thank you. " I said smiling back. My God he's cute. "I'm going to find Cole. " he said getting up. I held his hand and without thinking about it, i hugged him.

He hugged me back with one arm around my waist and the other hand gently stroking my hair. He kissed my forehead gently before leaving. I collapsed on my bed.

I need someone to talk to. I'm so confused. "Where are you mum? I miss you."
