Chapter 72

Alexander's POV

We got back to the pack house and found Celine in there. I might not like Celine but she's helping out with the kids. Celine might be spoiled and all but she has a soft spot for Bertha.

Everyone does. Bertha is the one who keeps this pack together. Since Celine's parents died during a rogue attack, she's been living with her aunt and cousins.

Bertha is the light of this pack and everyone has noticed the difference since Shaun left.

"I was wondering when you'd show up." Celine murmured rolling her eyes when we walked in.

"Great now she just has a free pass to our floor." Alan muttered. "Hey Ally." Celine greeted batting her eyelashes. "You can leave." Alan stated bluntly.

"I invited Celine and Abby over for dinner. Watch your tone young man." Bertha scolded. Alan groaned and plopped down on the couch.

"Then where's Abby?" Kelly asked. "In the office demanding to be the pack doctor." Bertha replied.

I chuckled. "Well I don't see who else I'd possibly pick as future pack doctor." I said. "Umm me?" Celine responded.

"That wouldn't be a wise decision seeing as you're not a people person." Lani muttered sitting next to Alan.

Celine glared. "Too bad I don't want to be a pack doctor anyway." Celine shrugged. "Yeah, yeah, you're gonna be Luna of the dark fangs pack." Kelly said sarcastically.

Alan scoffed but decided not to respond. Nevel and Ivy came downstairs and I noticed Nevel's scent was masked.

Nevel looked at Lani questionably, I remembered he feels when she's upset. He must have felt it when we were in the woods. He didn't say anything though.

"You guys are back?" He asked. "Yeah for a second there are was really wishing only one of them would make it." Celine responded.

"Celine be nice." Abby said coming down the stairs. "You said not to jump Alan." Celine shrugged.

"Yeah, I'm not doing this." Alan mumbled getting up. "Bertha will kill us if we leave." Kelly muttered. "Ughhh." Alan groaned sitting back down.

"Well I'm just gonna take a quick shower." Cole said already going up. "Me too." We all responded most definitely just to get away from Celine.

Abby chuckled. "Ally, need any help?" Celine asked. "No but you could use some." Alan responded following Cole.

I followed them too. I couldn't help but glance at Shaun's door before I went into my room. I took a quick shower and got dressed.

"Cole, where's my hair brush?" I yelled. "I don't have it?" Cole yelled back. "Alan?" I called. "I'm pretty sure Shaun had it." He responded.

"No fucking privacy." I muttered walking into Shaun room. It's clean as always. He calls it his castle, he doesn't even bring in his one night stands.

I searched his drawer for the brush. There was a note attached.

Sorry for taking off like that Xander. Our fight provided the perfect excuse. Shane hasn't led me back to the rogue king yet. Lani's message was received though. 

Quite a chick you got there. I was able to slip the note in here hoping you'll find it. I know you will. Look Xan, in case something happens to me. I'm not mad at you.
