Chapter 67

Leilani's POV

I woke up when i felt myself being shifted. I opened my eyes and realized I was resting on Alan's chest. Where's Alex? I looked around to find him with dark eyes. Like Dante was in control.

He muttered something and punched the wall. "Xander, chill.  She's up." Alan said firmly. Alex's eyes landed on my confused expression and quickly turned back to blue.

"I didn't mean to wake you. Sorry." He mumbled sitting next to Alan. Alan picked me up like a kid and placed me on Alex's lap.

"Can you not treat her like a toy?" Alex sighed wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me to his chest. "I do as I please. "Alan responded.

"Not with her." Alex responded. "Enough, why are you so worked up?" I asked. "Shane basically threatened your life a few minutes ago." Cole answered with his mouth full.

"Shane was here? Wait, where's my phone?" I asked. What if he texted? "I have it. "Alex responded looking at me weirdly.

"Can I have it?" I asked. "Have you had an interaction with Shane? Besides the twin's birthday?" He asked.

"What?" I asked, trying to avoid the question. "Cut the crap, Lani. Shane texted you. Why?" He asked looking unimpressed.

"What did he say?" I asked. "Lani just answer the question." Alan said coldly. "Maybe, what's so wrong? "I asked. "Lani, why?" Cole asked rubbing his forehead.

"I thought maybe he just needed a better chance to explain himself." I responded. "So you went after him? Do you know how dangerous he is?" Alex asked.

"There's good in him, Alex." I sighed. "Shaun come on. You believe this too, right?" I asked Shaun who had been quiet throughout.

"I thought I knew him, but he isn't the brother i lost all those years ago. I don't want you getting hurt because of my family." He sighed.

"So you're just going to give up on him?" I asked softly. "It's my battle, Lani." Shaun stated.

"Alright, fine. Give me my phone." I said  calmly. "You're mad." Alex murmured. "Just give me my phone. Please." I added.

He sighed and gave it to me. I got up and headed up to my room.

Lani: Where are you?

Shane: Want your mate to finish the job?

Lani: Did he hurt you?

Shane: Like he could.

Lani: What do you mean Shaun is in danger?

Shane: I didn't attack him. I'd never.

Lani: Who hurt him?

Shane: Our father...he was trying to prove a point. It was my fault.

Lani: A point? They almost killed him.

Shane: How is he?

Lani: Physically healing.

Shane: He needs to come with me?

Lani: His mate is here.

Shane: I know that. Father doesn't accept weaknesses. If he finds out, the blonde is dead.

Lani: You can't be serious. Rejection isn't an option.

Shane: I don't make the rules. I follow them.

Lani: You don't have to. Join my pack.

Shane: The royal pack?

Lani: He can't get to you there. I'll be queen. You can leave.
