Alexander's POV
After I took Cole to his room and made sure he was comfortable, I walked out to find Shaun and Lani. "You like her." I heard Lani say. "I don't. Goodnight."Shaun responded trying to walk away.
"What are you talking about? "I decided to interrupt. "Your mate is being weird." Shaun muttered looking away. "I'm not. You know I'm right." Lani argued.
"I know you're delusional. "Shaun said sounding irritated. "Look, it's late. Whatever this is can wait till morning. Okay?" I asked. "Fine."Lani agreed. "Or maybe she could just mind her own business."Shaun snapped.
"Shaun." I warned. "Whatever. "He muttered. "I'll see you in the morning. Goodnight." I said to Lani. She kissed my cheek before going into her room.
"Well?" I asked quietly. "She saw me tucking Kelly in and thinks I like her." Shaun sighed. 'Let's go downstairs.' I said through the mindlink. 'Why?' He asked.
'I pointed at his hands which now had sharp claws replacing his normal fingernails. "Whoa." He said looking at his hands. He looked back at me with his eyes completely black.
"Now." I said pulling him with me as we dashed down the stairs. His claws scratched me a little but not anything serious.
We got outside just in time for him to completely shift. "Wow." I muttered looking at my friend in shock. He looked at his paws and back at me. 'Fucking awesome.' He said through the mindlink. 'Your wolf is amazing. 'I said.
Shaun's wolf was a large brown wolf but probably smaller than me. The weird but awesome thing about his wolf is the black tips of his fur. Could one of Shaun's real parents have had alpha blood?
'Shift. I want to go for a run.' Shaun said excitedly. That's what we did. We just let our wolves have freedom as we played under the moonlight.
~~the next morning ~~
"Will you two just focus and finish packing." I said catching the shirt Cole was throwing at Alan. "I'm trying to. Alan stop throwing my stuff." Cole whined.
"Al enough." I said. He rolled his eyes. His phone rang. He picked it up and didn't say anything. We heard a voice we hadn't missed.
"Ally baby, where are you. It's already 10 and you're not in school. Are we ditching? Where should I meet you?" Celine rushed out. I held back a laugh at Alan's freaked out expression.
Alan sighed and hang up. "Well I'm blocking her." He muttered. "She's not going to give up, you know. "I said. "Well you said not to kill her."Alan responded.
"You can't kill a pack member because of a slight inconvenience. "I stated. "Slight? That girl has been obsessed with me for the past 14 years of my life." Alan said glaring at me.
"You don't see me trying to kill Vivian. I've had to deal with that ever since she learnt to walk."I muttered. "Not everyday. "Alan added. I shrugged.
"Okay I'm done packing. "Cole stated. I nodded. 'Xander.'Shaun called through the mindlink. 'Yeah?' I responded. 'Lani won't leave me alone.'he stated. 'Why?' I asked confused.
'Just come get her, please. 'He said. "I'm going to check up on Lani. Get your stuff down. "I said getting up."I'm starting to wonder where your priority lies. "Cole whined. "Shut up. I'll be right back. "I said chuckling.
I walked out and went over to Shaun's room. "Finally, your mate is being a nuisance." Shaun said when I walked in. "Watch it." I growled. "Lani, what is this?" I asked pulling her to me. "I just want Shaun to admit it." She said crossing her arms.
"Don't you think just maybe you're exaggerating. "I said calmly. "I mean maybe he doesn't want to say it just yet." I added when she glared. She sighed.
"Well...maybe." she said softly. "So maybe we should leave him to finish packing. "I suggested. She nodded. I led her out. 'Thanks. 'Shaun said.
"I'll see if Kelly's ready." She said. I nodded as she went into Kelly's room. "Great now I'm lying to my mate too." I muttered under my breath as I walked downstairs. I stopped on Nevel's floor.
Lawrence was packing his stuff but Nevel was no where on his floor. "Good morning, Lawrence." I greeted. "Morning, Alexander. If you're looking for Nevel. He's downstairs with his cousin."he said with a smile.
"Need some help?" I asked him. "I'm fine. I'm just packing things he'll actually need since he just packed his tablet and candy." Lawrence said chuckling.
"I should have found it suspicious when he said he was done packing in under five minutes. "Lawrence added.
I laughed, shaking my head as I made my way downstairs. Alan, Cole, Sophia and Nevel were in the kitchen. "Do you two maybe want to make up your mind?" Sophia asked looking at Cole and Nevel.
"Muffins or Brownies?" Sophia asked. "Both?" Nevel suggested. "Alright fine I'll make both." Sophia sighed as she got out the ingredients.
"I like my brownies cakey. Thanks Soph." Cole said with a smile that could make anyone bend over backwards for him. "I like mine fudgy." Nevel said matching Cole's smile.
Sophia rolled her eyes. "What about you two?"Sophia asked shyly avoiding eye contact with Alan and I. I don't blame her for feeling better with Cole. He's always been the most approachable.
"I'm fine either way." I responded taking a seat next to Cole. Alan didn't respond. "Okay then." Sophia said when she realized Alan wasn't going to respond.
A phone rang and Alan groaned. "What's wrong?"I asked confused. "Celine has called with five different numbers already." Cole giggled. "It's not funny." Alan muttered.
"Come on, maybe it isn't her this time." I responded trying to be positive. He answered and placed it on loud speaker.
"Oh Ally, we keep getting disconnected. Maybe it's just bad connection. "Celine said deceiving herself.
I face palmed myself. This girl needs a mate, preferably one far from this pack. "Celine-" Alan was cut off by Sophia coming back.
"Hey, should I know about any allergies or something?" Sophia asked as she mixed the batter. "Who's that? Ally are you with another girl? That is not Chantelle or that pathetic princess. Who the hell are you with?" Celine ranted.
Alan groaned before hanging up. "Oh. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to create problems with your girlfriend." Sophia apologized looking terrified. "It's not your fault. His girlfriend has problems." I responded trying to hold back my laughter.
"I will harm you. Badly. "Alan growled. I burst into laughter and Cole joined. "I really didn't mean to. I'm sorry." Sophia apologized. "Seriously Soph, it's not your fault. "Cole said between laughs.
"You have a girlfriend?" Nevel asked innocently. "No." Alan muttered. "Why not?" Nevel asked. "I don't need one." Alan responded. "Why not?" Nevel asked.
"He asks a lot of questions, doesn't he?" Alan asked looking at Sophia. "Yeah, Nevel that's enough." Sophia stated firmly. He shrugged. "I'm just saying, he's really handsome. "Nevel stated.
"I'm starting to like this kid." Alan said with a smirk.
