Chapter 52

Alexander's POV

Alan and I are parked outside Nevel's school. We didn't want the girl's leaving the house and that's how it will be till Friday. Cole and Shaun are to stay with Lani and Kelly until we get back.

Nevel gave us a weird look when he saw us. "Where's Lei?" He asked walking over to us. "Home. We decided to pick you up today." I responded.

"Ivy is with Alan's girlfriend. "Nevel said getting in. "Not my girlfriend." Alan corrected. Nevel shrugged. "Let's get you back so you can rest." I said starting the car.

Lani made it very clear to come right back. "So was today any better?" I asked. "Well the library had some advanced books. Plus, I like hanging out with Ivy." Nevel said.

"Xander, that car is following us. Lose it." Alan muttered making me alert. I looked through the mirror and saw a familiar car.

"Wait, I think that's Celine." I said slowing down.

"I know. Floor it." Alan stated. "We're all heading back to the pack house." I responded. "Ugh."he groaned. Celine kept honking at us so I decided to pull over.

"What is it, Celine? "I asked when she pulled over next to me. Ivy waved from the front seat and I waved back. "Oh, I thought I sensed Alan. I was just making sure. "She said with a creepy smile.

"Dude, drive." Alan stated. I sighed and continued driving to the pack house. We got there and made our way upstairs. Nevel stopped masking his scent when we entered the living room.

"You okay?" I asked. He nodded. "Hey guys. "He greeted walking over to Lani. "There's my little ladies man." Shaun said. "Stop calling him that. He's Cole junior. "Cole stated proudly.

"As if." Lani scoffed. "Nevel, you can go upstairs and rest. " Lani stated. "Okay, I'm going to call Phia and tell her everything. "He said. Lani nodded. "Tell Sophia thanks for the brownies." Cole said.

"Okay." Nevel responded going upstairs. "Your cousin's kinda cute." Cole suddenly said. That's the type of comment  I'd expect from Shaun. "You both are."he added. "Thanks?" Lani responded.

Alan gave him a weird look. "You think all girls are cute. "Alan muttered. "They are." Cole shrugged. "Your mate will be extremely lucky. " Lani chuckled pinching his cheek softly.

"Way to raise the bar, Cole. "Shaun muttered. "Relax, your mate will be happy with you too." Kelly said. "Really?" Shaun asked. "Yeah, you do know how to make girls happy." Kelly responded.

"I think I'm just going to focus on one girl's happiness from now. "He said softly. "What changed? "Kelly asked. "Kels can we ta-"

"Guys!" Cole suddenly exclaimed. "What?" Kelly asked. "These chocodiles are to die for." Cole moaned. "Are you kidding me?" I asked irritated. "Try it."he said handing me some.

'Dude just tell, Cole. ' I said through the mindlink. 'He'll kill me.' Shaun responded. 'He won't hurt you...that bad. I mean you can't exactly control who you're mated to.' I stated.

He didn't respond. "Why are you glaring at me?" Cole asked confused. I sighed patting his back. "Friday's gonna be interesting. "Alan said with a smirk making Shaun glare.

"Actually while we're on the topic of mates. Shaun, are you worried about not meeting your mate?" I asked. He growled. "Don't worry, you'll meet her." Kelly said reassuring him.

"Will she be okay with your past though?" Alan asked going along with it. "While I agree that you've slept with many girls, I think if she sees you've stopped those ways she'll accept you." Kelly said.

''You really think so?" Shaun asked. "Of course. Everyone makes mistakes. Even though you made a lot and i mean a lot." Kelly said. "Alright I get it." Shaun snapped.

'Thank me later.' I said with a shrug. 'It hasn't fixed the issue with Cole.' He said. I shrugged. There was a knock on the door. I opened it but saw no one.

"Hi." I heard a cheerful voice greet. I looked down to see a very familiar red head smiling brightly. I chuckled. "Come on in Ivy."I said opening the door.

"I'll get Nevel. "I said heading up. I got to his room and knocked. "Come in." He responded. I walked in to see him reading."What are you reading?" I asked.

"I found it in the library. Ivy said it was interesting." He responded. "You like reading?" I asked. "Yeah." He responded. I nodded. "Ivy is downstairs." I said.

"Okay. " he said. I suddenly couldn't sense him again. "Let's go." He said getting up. We went back down. "Hey, Ivy." Nevel greeted. She waved enthusiastically.

"I was bored so I decided to come." Ivy said. "Does Abby know?" Kelly asked. "Abby wasn't home. I was with Celine. She'll come here anyway. Alan's her boyfriend right?" Ivy asked innocently.

"What makes you think that?"I asked amused. "She has many pictures of him in her room." Ivy said with a shrug. Well, my amusement quickly turned to fright.

"I don't know who's weirder. Celine or this L.V guy." Cole muttered. "The rogue king is definitely weirder." Ivy said swinging her legs back and forth.

The room grew so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. Nevel couldn't have told her because he looked as shocked. "Oh sorry, haven't you gotten that part yet? "Ivy asked.

"What?" Nevel asked confused. "The book I gave you today. It talks about how a man turned into the leader of rogues. He was the first person who figured out how to control rogues."Ivy continued.

"Nevel, do you mind grabbing the book you were reading?" I asked. "Sure."he responded going back up the stairs. "Ivy, can you tell us more about this rogue king?" Shaun asked softly.

"Well, according to the book, many years ago a man named Lucio Vincenzi was exiled from his pack." Ivy stated. Nevel came down with the book and I handed it to Ivy.

She started flipping through the pages as she continued. "It didn't mention what he was exiled for but he swore to have revenge. It's believed that he saved two young wolves who suddenly became obsessed with him.

They called him their King and he went along with it. He and his two followers started helping other rogues. His empire grew from there. It was over a 100 years ago.

Some believe he died and the rogues went on their way. Others believe he had a child who the rogues protected to continue his reign."she concluded showing me a picture of a black wolf with other wolves bowing down and the initials L.V.

"Ivy, was he an alpha?" I asked. "It wasn't mentioned. "She responded.

"I guess we know which version is true." Alan muttered.

"We're dealing with a descendant." Lani said.

"If it was over a hundred years ago,might... your father know about it?" Nevel asked Lani. "I don't know. I'll ask." Lani responded.

"How come you're interested in the rogue king?" Ivy asked. "We're just intrigued." Kelly said. "Even if he did have a descendant, the rogue king doesn't want anything to do with a pack. "Ivy stated.

"He might be interested in the princess, right?" Nevel asked. "Well I wouldn't think so. The King at the time must have been Lei's grandfather. Unless his descendants are vengeful enough to want revenge. " Ivy said.

"That doesn't add up. I read in...umm, another book that for someone to be able to be seen as a rogue king. They don't show weakness. The rogue king must not have told them the story of how a king approved for him to be exiled." Nevel said trying carefully not to reveal too much.

"Exactly, we have nothing to worry about unless the rogues have been provoked. " Ivy said innocently with a smile.

"Guys...the rogue king isn't after Lani." Kelly muttered. "He never was. "I muttered.

"He has a different objective?" Alan said confused.
