Alexander's POV

"There's no way he would have taken all those pills. There must be a mistake." I said.

The doctor observed me for a while. Her eyes moving from me to Lani. "I'm sorry alpha but there's no mistake."she said.

"Why would he do this?" Kelly cried pulling away. "Please wake up, Cole. I need you. What should I tell mum?" Kelly asked sobbing.

Lani hugged Kelly and she hugged her back tightly. "Why would he do this?" I heard Kelly ask. "I don't know. He'll wake up soon. Everything will be fine."Lani soothed.

"When will he wake up?" I asked staring at my best friend's unmoving body and pale face.

"I can't tell. His system is barely functioning. If he was human he'd be dead but luckily he has his wolf. They're both very weak and I don't know if he'll ever-"

"Don't you there complete that sentence." Alan growled. Shaun held him back.

"What the fuck was he thinking?" I growled punching the wall. "I hate to be that person but anger won't tell you why he did it." Sophia said walking in.

"You bruised your knuckles. Let me see." She said calmly. "I'm fine." I snapped pulling away. "She didn't do anything Xan." Alan stated.

I sighed. "Sophia I'm sorry. It's just a scratch. I'm okay." I said. She sighed. "It's okay. You two seem close." She responded before going over to Kelly.

"He'll be fine." She murmured laying her head on Kelly's shoulder. "I think it's best for me to go back and tell Aunt Debbie and Uncle Dean in person." Shaun said.

"They can't leave the pack unattended and I don't think you'll be leaving his side." Shaun sighed looking at me. "Will you come back?" I asked.

"Someone has to stay and look after the pack." Shaun shrugged. "She needs her mate." Alan stated. "I don't mind looking over your pack. River is heading back to mine tonight. "He added.

"Oh my. Max and Gavin told us. What happened?" Dad asked walking in with Bertha. She gasped at the sight. "Oh Colton." She sighed.

"How long has he been on it?" Dad asked. It's almost like he asked the question running through my head except he thought I knew the answer.

"We didn't know." Alan murmured. "Excuse me." I said quickly rushing out. Uncle Max walked over to me.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked. "Not really. "I mumbled. He nodded. "He's my best friend. I should have noticed." I said.

"How didn't I notice?" I asked, a couple of tears escaping. "He would have noticed if it was me." I cried leaning my head against the wall.

He placed his hand on my shoulder. "You can't blame yourself. You and I both know Cole would rather die than make anyone worry about him." He stated.

More tears streamed down. "He wouldn't want to see you like this." He said. "Well maybe he should have talked to me instead of taking in pills." I snapped.

He sighed. "Maybe you two should talk."he said before going into Cole's room. I turned to Kelly. I wiped the tears from my face.

"Are you okay?" I asked her. She hugged me and I immediately wrapped my arms around her.

"He's your brother as much as he is mine." She murmured. I sighed running my hand through her hair.

"He's going to he fine, right Xan?"she asked softly. "Of course. You know he doesn't give up that easily. "I said with a small smile.
