[ EPISODE FIFTEEN ]

"yo! welcome back!" i looked up from the temporary bar, watching as the master greeted natsu and the others back from their job. the news about phantom's attack had reached them upon their return, and they didn't look happy at all. although, it was hard to focus on that when master was drunk and brushing the matter away as if it were nothing.

i sighed as natsu was kicking up a fuss, and master makarov was busy shutting down his idea of retaliating before he escaped the situation and ran off to the bathroom. although he played it off well, it was obvious the master was worried about what was going on. this time no one was hurt, but if they didn't put a lid on this feud now, there was no telling what the next attack could hold.

"maya, the beer." cana brought my attention back to the glass in my hand, my eyes widening as i realised it had been overflowing and the liquid had doubled in volume by my feet.

"ah!" i turned off the tap, setting the glass down before grabbing a towel to wipe my hand.

"what a waste." she sighed, taking the glass that she had been waiting for before downing it in seconds. i mumbled a quiet apology, cleaning up the mess by my feet. i sighed, throwing the towel onto the wash up pile before returning to work. the attack had affected everyone, many weren't taking on jobs as they wanted to stay guard in case anything were to happen, and those of us who did stay back in the guild grew restless of what attack was to happen next.

"maya-chan?" i snapped out of my daze, glancing over at lucy who had been calling for me. her, natsu and erza were staring at me curiously, wondering what had me so distracted.

"huh? sorry, what did i miss?" i questioned, a smile appearing on my lips as i suppressed my worries to the back of my mind.

"are you okay? you seem to be distracted today." lucy asked, noticing my strange behaviour.

"is it about the phantom attack?" i flinched at the mention of phantom, avoiding erza's gaze as they all stared at me worriedly.

"what did they do?" natsu seethed, grabbing me by my shoulders as anger took over. almost immediately he caught everyone's attention as they looked over at us, wondering what had set him off again.

"i- i was just heading back to grab a book i left behind, when i bumped into him." i quietly answered, unable to look natsu in the eye as i could feel his body burning with rage. the others gasped in surprise, having heard this for the first time as i had kept it to myself until now.

"did he do anything?" i pursed my lips, knowing that telling the others what had happened would only set them off. i dropped my gaze to the ground, shaking my head in answer because i didn't trust my voice to not waver when i lied to him. however, natsu didn't seem to believe me as his hands balled around my shoulders, tightening his grip as his anger doubled.
