[ EPISODE SIXTY FOUR ]

the fairy tail wizards arrived at sun village with time to spare thanks to warrod's assistance. despite his explanation, they were still surprised to see that every single inch of the village was covered in ice, an ice that looked different to the magical ice they had witnessed before.

"everything really is encased in ice, even the buildings." lucy commented, surprise clear in her tone as their eyes peered around in fascination.

"according to warrod-sama, so are the residents," erza added. "but i don't see any of them." she added in confusion, the others silently agreed with her words, unable to catch a glimpse of villagers who had supposedly been frozen over too.

"huge!" natsu's voice caught their attention as they stopped in their tracks, glancing over to what he was looking at. almost immediately, their eyes widened in surprise as this was beyond whatever they were expecting to find in this place. "is this a village full of giants!?" he exclaimed, maya glancing around and realising that there were more giants around them, also frozen by this strange ice. although she hadn't used her glacier mode frequently, even she could tell that this ice wasn't going to be easy to melt. she placed a hand against one of the iced over buildings, noticing that the contents of the chemicals were different.

"i'll melt the ice with my flames!" brought back to reality, she glanced over towards the fire dragon slayer who held a ball of flames to the giant's foot in an attempt to melt it. however, not even after five minutes, there wasn't so much as a scratch on the giant ― which she guessed was lucky for him, considering a giant set on fire wouldn't end well for them.

"the chemical identity of the ice is different to what we're used to." maya commented, walking over to join the others. "although my ice is nothing in comparison to gray's, it seems that whoever did this, did so in haste." she added, catching everyone's attention. the ice user seemed deep in thought as he processed her words.

"the old, wooden man said this was no ordinary ice." gray commented, walking over to the giant nearest to him before placing his hand against the ice. "maya's right," he continued before his face contorted to confusion. "but i'm picking something up from the ice, a kind of magic i've never felt before."
