[ EPISODE SIXTY TWO ]
✮
"from now on, you're going to have to learn to utilise both our powers together." the green haired mage was panting for air, her body scuffed with scratches and bruises from her intensive training that she had put herself on. it had been a couple of weeks since they had returned from the bloom mansion, and maya had put herself onto a training regime to help her become stronger. with the help of yin and yang, she was learning more about her own powers as well as finding new ways to utilise the two souls to their full potential.
"i know," she breathed out between her pants, doubled over with her hands on her knees. "i know i need to get more powerful."
"then stay focused." yin ordered, standing before the girl. "you were lucky last time with using our powers during the dragon attack, but if you lose focus and can't balance our souls with your own when we're fused, then you could lose control."
"i know."
"it's not just yourself you have to protect now, you have the power to protect those around you too." yin continued, seeming to be drilling her words into the girl's head. maya released a deep breath, calming herself down before she snapped at the tiger.
she was stood in the middle of the forest, deeming the outskirts of magnolia the safest place to utilise her powers and not get anyone caught in the aftermath of it. the two souls had ordered her to fuse with them and focus on balancing their powers whilst they were inside her body, but it seemed to be proving difficult as she easily lost control. the two would force themselves to separate when it got to that point, exhausting her body as she pushed herself beyond her limits.
"yin, let's take a break." yang suggested, his apparition appearing next to the tiger.
"no." maya protested before yin could argue with him. "i can keep going." she assured, peeking one eye open. she sat back down criss-cross, closing her eyes and releasing a deep breath. she had been working in a small opening that was surrounded by trees and bushes, the foliage around her destroyed from her magic. she was very slowly beginning to get the hang of controlling the damage that was being inflicted, and she didn't want to lose the momentum now that her body was getting used to it.
