[ EPISODE THREE ]

"my, my, what an appetite." someone behind me commented, but i ignored it as i continued to eat. after finding out that i had been asleep for a week, the only thought that i could process was how hungry i was. i figured it would take me a while to adjust to the guild environment and the new people around me, but all that nervousness disappeared as soon as my eyes landed on the food before me.

"hey! i've been waiting all week for this!" i turned around, realising that the pink haired boy from before was pushing himself to the front of the crowd. i had been so busy chowing down, i hadn't realised that people had gathered behind me to watch, supposedly wondering who the new girl was. i swallowed the piece of meat that was in my mouth before hopping off the stool, walking over to him and meeting him in the middle.

"waiting for what?" i asked as the boy seemed visibly excited by my presence.

"show us your magic! fight me!" he requested, his eyes glistening with anticipation. i flinched, looking away from him. i guess not everyone was aware of my condition.

"h-hey, natsu! she only just recovered." lisanna scolded, fully aware of my situation. however, i shook my head, sending her a reassuring smile.

"i'll fight." i agreed, surprising those around me as the pinkette jumped up excitedly. his youthful rowdiness was more infectious than annoying. it seemed that most of the guild was well aware of my lack of magic, yet he was completely oblivious to it all ― then again, he gave the vibe that he didn't listen to others very well. i realised that when he was set on something, he sought to it until the very end. it was actually quite admirable.

although, i wasn't any different.

"amaya, are you sure? your body's still recovering." lisanna had approached me with concern, as i undid the bandages around my arm. "natsu may seem goofy, but he's a dragon slayer with immense magical power, although he may not be the most skilful." i didn't know if she was complimenting him or insulting him, but either way, i was more than prepared to fight him.

"don't worry," i sent the girl a smile, dropping the bandages to the floor. "i may not have any magic in me, but i have a brain that keeps me alive." i assured, knocking against my skull with a bright smile. lisanna sighed, mumbling something under her breath but i didn't catch it as i stepped forward and prepared myself.

just as i was about to start stretching, natsu suddenly came charging with a flamed fist. "iron fist," he began as he thrashed forward with his right arm. "of the fire dragon!" he finished, about to land his blow when i suddenly jumped into the air. i was just high enough to flip myself over his body, my right arm outstretched as i used his head as leverage to push myself around and behind him, all the while i pushed against his head with a strong force that threw him across to the other side of the room.
