"i can't believe there was no alcohol on that ship." maya sighed with a pout, the group disembarking as they arrived at honeycoast where she had been last time with laxus. it was the only port town in ceran, and where all cargo ships came to distribute goods throughout the island. 

guren and the other soldiers were talking to someone, telling the wizards to wait by the ship as they sorted out the transport to the castle. from honeycoast, they would be taking a carriage into the capital. when she was here with laxus, the two had avoided it as citizens would easily recognise her since they were obsessed with the royal family, and maya's face had been plastered everywhere after that devastating day when their king and queen had been murdered. it was definitely going to be weird going back to the place she was chased out of at a young age.

"what!?" the six turned their heads towards the soldiers, noticing them arguing with someone. "how can there be none!?" shinya exclaimed, guren stood beside him, looking just as irritated.

"what's the problem?" natsu questioned as they walked over.

"princess!" they turned to the green haired mage with worried looks, concerning the six wizards as they glanced between one another. "it seems there was a mix up and the carriage we had prepared for you hasn't arrived as planned." guren explained. "we will fix this immediately―"

"it's okay," she cut him off, shaking her head. "we can walk." she assured.

"walk!? but princess, we can't possibly ask you to―" 

"you're not asking me to," maya cut him off. "i'm deciding to do it, i'm here on a job request, not to be a princess." she reminded guren after cutting him off. the man pursed his lips, a small sigh escaping his lips as he nodded his head.

"as you wish." 

"that's her right?" 

"she's got some nerve coming back here." 

"and wearing the royal colours? what a bunch of chums." 

maya kept her head low, ashamed to lift her gaze and meet the glaring eyes of the residents who she had harmed only a few years ago. 

"please accept my apologies, i thought the carriage would have been waiting for us." guren apologised again, noticing how uncomfortable the fairy tail wizards looked as they were verbally ridiculed.
