after getting over the attack on margaret and wendy agreeing to join the team in getting fairy tail back together again, the now six members were on their way to their next stop, which was a village not too far from them that had been named the rain bringer village. rumour has it, that it apparently never stops raining, and lucy had a hunch that one of their members resided there.
"ah-choo!" maya wiped at her nose, pulling natsu's blanket closer around her body as they walked through the rainy village. she sighed in annoyance, the sneezes seeming to be never ending ever since they left crocus.
"do you have a cold, maya-san?" wendy questioned, glancing up at the girl in concern. maya waved it off with a reassuring smile, telling her that she was fine, but natsu's lingering gaze was glazed over with worry as they remained trained on the girl whilst walking, noticing how she seemed more lethargic and slower than before.
luckily for maya, they didn't push her any further for answers as they stumbled upon juvia sat outside one of the houses. despite their excitement to see her again, there seemed to be something wrong, and before they knew it, she had fainted before them. taken by surprise, they hurried to take her inside and changed her into dry clothes and into bed. her condition seemed a lot worse than she let on, but she explained what had happened to both her and gray whilst they had been living together during the year disbandment.
"...and half a year ago, he never came back." she finished off sadly, taking them all by surprise.
"that jerk, just leaving like that..." natsu grumbled in annoyance, catching maya's attention as she glared at him.
"like you're one to talk." she commented, catching his attention as he realised he had no right to judge gray.
"if anything, yours was worse, natsu." happy added in, rubbing salt into the wound.
"i know." natsu fired back, glaring at the feline for pointing out the obvious. "i know i'm an idiot." he mumbled, crossing his arms as he looked away, unable to face the girl who eyed him. a sigh escaped her lips as they dropped the topic and she turned back to juvia who continued with her story.
