[ EPISODE FIFTY SIX ]

"you should lie back down." natsu instructed but the girl didn't listen, pushing his hands away as she stood from the bed. "maya―"
"i'm fine, natsu~" she whined. "come on, i've been asleep for three days, if anything, i should be moving my body around." she argued, walking away from him before he could stop her. he sighed, knowing she was too stubborn to ever listen to him, and instead followed after the girl as she walked over to the balcony doors. reaching for them, she pulled them open, standing at the doorway as the soft breeze of the night entered her room.
her lips curled into a small smile, peering over her shoulder as natsu stood behind her, already staring down at her. "come on." she grabbed his hand, pulling him out into the open balcony as she leaned against the railing. "it's even prettier at night." she mumbled quietly to herself, looking down at the flower garden that they had stood in only a few days ago. although it was hard to make out the different flowers in the moonlight, the soft glow and the dotted fireflies made the sight of it all melt into a pretty painting that now became the grounds of her buried ancestors.
"yeah." natsu absentmindedly agreed, standing beside the girl, but just like any typical romance, his view was the green haired mage who stood obliviously before him.
"do you think everything will be okay?" she turned her head to face him, her eyes meeting his. natsu was slightly taken aback, not expecting such a torn expression held on her features as she seemed to be fighting an internal battle. "i don't want to abandon my kingdom again, but my home is with fairy tail, what do i do?"
the pink haired dragon slayer lifted his hand and carefully placed it atop her head, he leaned in towards her, a smile on his lips as maya watched his every move intently. "you'll figure it out." his simple words didn't exactly assure maya, but she couldn't help but snort at it. "what? i'm serious, we'll find a way together. i'm not letting you leave my side." he assured, running his hand down her hair and stopping at the small of her back before pushing her body into his.
"seriously, is your solution to everything just hugging?" she questioned as he laid his chin on top of her head, holding her body against his.
"what? i'm making up for all our lost time, do you know how long you were gone for?" he complained, his cheek flat against the top of her head.
"sorry." she quietly mumbled, finally melting into his hold as she wrapped her arms around his waist. "you're so clingy." she giggled, lifting her head to look up at him. natsu smiled, looking down at her with an expression maya couldn't read.
"maya's awake!" their attention turned back to the room, finding happy and lucy stood at the doorway of the bedroom. natsu's smile dropped as he realised his alone time with maya was over, knowing that the girl would be taken away from him. she wasted no time in pulling away, her face painted red as she hurried back into the room and left the boy behind.
