"woah, so this is your place!?" natsu and happy exclaimed as they entered the apartment the girls had been sharing since moving to crocus. the two were quick to make themselves comfortable as they looked around the place and made a mess in record time. maya sighed, feeling completely exhausted by the day as she ran a hand through her hair, fatigue catching up to her body.
"i'll get started on dinner." maya smiled towards lucy as the blonde nodded, saying her thanks as she headed into the bathroom first to get cleaned up. natsu awkwardly stood in the middle of the room, seeming out of place as he watched the green haired mage walk over to the kitchen sink to wash her hands.
"things have changed a lot over the years, huh?" he followed her like a lost puppy whilst happy made himself comfortable on the sofa. "your hair got longer." he pointed out, taking a strand into his hand as she turned off the tap and grabbed a tea towel to dry her hands.
"so did yours." she pointed out, reaching up to his own hair and running her hand through it with a smile. their proximity caused natsu's cheeks to flush red as he watched her, his heart racing against his chest as the simple action made him nervous again, like it was the first time.
"hmm, it does get in the way." he shyly admitted as maya pulled her hand back, not realising the affect she had on the boy as she instead turned around and started to prepare the ingredients for dinner.
"you can get lucy to summon cancer and cut it for you." she pointed out, her back towards him as his eyes never left her.
"i want you to cut it." he suddenly declared, catching the girl's attention as she peered over her shoulder back at him in surprise. she was about to protest before seeing that he had that look that said he wasn't going to change his mind. a sigh escaped her lips once more before curling into a small smile, nodding her head as she turned back to the chopping board.
"fine," she agreed. "you haven't changed a bit." she quiety added to herself, pouring the ingredients into a large pot along with the spices. whilst she was busily moving around the kitchen, she hadn't realised that natsu had been following her every step, sticking to her like glue as she busily prepared their dinner. "if you're going to stand here staring, then you can help." she ordered, handing him the pot with rice inside. "wash this."
