the sound of a zipper being zipped echoed throughout the empty hallways as amaya put on her jacket whilst the sabertooth team quietly walked out of domus flau. there wasn't a single word exchanged between the five as the green haired mage led them out of the building. however, just as they neared the exit, they came face to face with fairy tail's team a. 

meeting their gazes, she released a deep breath, lifting her hand and waving her members to go ahead without her. "i'll catch up." she glanced over her shoulder, cutting through the clear tension as they stared at her in surprise. 

"hey, there's no time―" sting stepped forward, placing a hand on the girl's shoulder, however, he flinched upon their eyes meeting. there was an intense fire behind her glare, one that told him to listen to her. without another word, the four remaining sabertooth members walked out ahead of her, not even sparing a glance as they left her to it. 

"you've... changed." erza spoke up, catching her attention as she turned back to them. the girl visibly relaxed, a bashful smile appearing on her lips as she scratched the back of her head. she was completely different to the person she was only seconds ago, this amaya was the maya of fairy tail. 

"i guess you're right." she admitted, nodding her head in agreement. 

"what was that out there!? since when could you use magic!?" natsu cut into the conversation, stepping forward as he grabbed her by the arms, taking the girl by surprise. "just where have you been all this time?" his voice was softer as he stared into her eyes, searching for something as amaya looked straight back into them. 

"there is a lot to explain," amaya answered, nodding her head. "first of all, i lied to all of you." the five were taken aback, her honesty being completely unexpected. "i could always use magic, from the day i was born. on my thirteenth birthday, i was given a very powerful ability that no one else in the world could use." 

"yin and yang." erza suddenly answered, recognising the magic amaya had used during her battle. she had only heard stories about it since many believed that the power had disappeared as there was no news of them ever being used again for over a decade.

"right." amaya nodded her head, meeting erza's gaze as natsu also glanced back at the scarlet haired woman. "yin and yang usually choose their next bearers themselves, but my parents had their own plans. they killed the previous bearer and forced the role upon me." her monotonous tone whilst explaining was more scary than the actual story being told as the fairy tail wizards stared at her in horror. "although, maybe they did him a favour, since no yin and yang bearer has ever survived more than a year with the power." 

"what do you mean?" gray exclaimed in disbelief. he had put a few pieces together but he wanted to hear it out loud.
