a/n: ACCIDENTALLY UPLOADED THE WRONG CHAPTER OMG

[ EPISODE TWENTY FOUR ]

i sat in the archives room, exhaling a deep breath. natsu and gajeel had defeated laxus and the other members had destroyed thunder palace before magnolia could be hurt. poryluscia had arrived in time to save the master from any detrimental health problems and the whole guild was currently upstairs celebrating and preparing for the fantasia parade.

"it's here somewhere." i quietly mumbled to myself, scanning the words as i peered from book to book. i winced in pain, feeling my head throb as i shut my eyes tight, regulating my breathing before continuing.

"i thought i'd find you here." i turned around at the voice, surprised to see the blonde haired mage at the door.

"laxus!" i stood up from the chair, not expecting him to appear at the guild. "you idiot! what were you thinking!?" i scolded as he walked down the stairs towards me. "do you have any idea what you've done!? you shouldn't be here right now, let master calm down and then―"

"i'm leaving fairy tail, maya," he cut me off, my eyes widening in surprise at his words. "it's what i deserve after what i did to everyone, but..." he trailed off, a sigh escaping his lips.

"no! i'm sure if i talk to master then he'll come around―"

"maya, it's okay―"

"it's not okay!" i glared at him, tears lining my vision as he was taken aback. however, it wasn't my words that had caught his attention.

"your eye..." i gasped, turning my head away as i placed a hand over my left eye, well aware of what he was seeing. he suddenly glanced behind me, noticing the books sprawled out on the table. "why is it out? didn't you take a tablet?" he questioned, panic clear in his voice as he stared at me expectantly.

"it's at home." i quietly mumbled, hiding away from his gaze. "i- i'll be fine! i can control it, for now i just need to figure out―" my own words fell short when a sharp pang hit my chest, causing me to stumble back at the sudden change in balance. my breathing was relatively heavier as i held the chair behind me to keep me up on my feet.

"maya!"

"i- i'm fine." i reassured, pulling myself together. laxus's gaze was fixed on my eye, watching it waver as it flickered between colours. "maybe i should go home." i joked, an awkward chuckle escaping my lips but it didn't seem to humour him as he could only look at me in concern. "please don't tell the others about this, but i..." i took in a deep breath, lowering my hand as i looked up at laxus. "i want to learn to control it."
