[ EPISODE FORTY ONE ]

"their souls are being sucked in." amaya stared at the eclipse doors, stood before it with lucy, wendy and hisui. the three girls and exceeds had escaped future rogue as they left natsu behind to deal with him, making it just in time to watch the gate being activated.

"why are you opening the portal?" lucy's tone was laced with confusion as she questioned hisui, catching the other's attention, tearing their eyes away from the eclipse doors and over to the celestial mage. "the dragons aren't here yet!"

"you know about the dragons?" hisui responded with the same tone of confusion, her gaze shifting to amaya, the only one who wasn't focused on the conversation but instead watching her souls, hearing them scream out in pain, her heart feeling heavy at the sight of yin and yang being used against their will like this. she didn't know why these two were needed for something so tormenting for them, making her wonder if whoever invented this had in mind that they would torture yin and yang whilst doing so.

"yes, they know," arcadios answered, averting their attention to him. "speaking of, where is the you from the future?" he asked, directing his question to amaya. wendy and lucy were immediately saddened by the mention of future amaya, their gazes dropping to the ground as they were reminded of the painful memory of losing their friend.

"she was murdered." lily answered for them. "by another man who came from the future."

"he said that the eclipse cannon didn't fire because i interfered with the portal opening." amaya finally spoke, turning her gaze towards hisui. the princess narrowed her eyes at her cousin, taking her words to heart.

"that's why he tried to kill you?" arcadios questioned.

"are you going to interfere with opening of the portal?" amaya's hands clenched into fists, her eyes shadowed by her hair as she walked up to the princess, angrily wrapping her hands around her collar and pulling her close so that they were eye-to-eye. her actions took everyone by surprise, arcadios stepping forward to stop her when hisui held her hand up and motioned for him to stand down.
