with the grand magic games d-day finally arriving, guilds from all across fiore travelled to crocus, the capital of the kingdom where the games are held every year. the fairy tail team chosen for the game had just arrived and all except one requip mage were on their knees, completely exhausted by their intense training that had been fast tracked after their trip to the celestial world.
"oh, you finally made it." they turned to the familiar voice of their master, seeing that the other members had already arrived too. "we've just finished getting you signed up. let's show everyone what fairy tail is made of!" he laughed, clearly excited to make a comeback at this game for the family that they had left behind.
"hey! fairy tail's here!" a bystander called out, having heard the master's words.
"them!?"
"the weak and eternally-last-place guild?"
they taunted and laughed, clearly amused by the shameless words that had been declared by the master. however, they were unaware of fairy tail's true power, and what made them the number one strongest guild in fiore seven years ago.
"who said that!?" natsu questioned, unable to hold back as he was ticked off by the comments.
"you're just gonna come in last again!"
"sabertooth's going to win for sure!"
she was walking across a small bridge, the name of her guild catching her attention as she glanced over the railing, her eyes landing on them. she paused in her steps, her interest piqued as she leaned over, trying to hear the conversation. although there wasn't much point considering the distance they were at. however, she could see their energy from here.
a small smile graced her lips as she felt her heart warm at the sight of them. "natsu..."
