Dear Diary,

I fell asleep shortly after that, but woke up to a roaring wind with ice shards pecking my face. My eyes snapped wide open as the screaming began, and I managed to pull my helmet on before it was swept away.

I stared at the carnage before me. The roof of the gym had been swept off, and whipping black winds circled the open air. Ice and rain pounded my armor and lightning crackled in the mess. I picked up my sword and ran for one of the exits, along with my comrades, and gasped in shock as we ran from the school.

In the mere hour I'd been asleep, the damage seemed nearly impossible. Entire rivers had formed in New Rome, with flooding waters everywhere filled with debris and mud. I could see dryads screaming in horror as they tried to run for shelter, their leafy hair blowing apart. Windows had shattered and light fixtures crackled and broke. A power line was down but on, leaving sparks in the street and a zoned-off area. But worst of all was the Little Tiber. The water was pounding against the levees, trying to push them open, and only Jason and Audra were managing to keep them in place.

"I can hear her!" Dakota shouted, staring at the sky. All of us listened closely, and we could hear the evil cackle of Tempestas above us.

Suddenly Jason's voice carried over the storm; "GET TO HIGH GROUND!"

The levees broke. Jason barely caught Audra in time and carried her to safety as the flooding began. Water swept across the side, roaring and completely paving a new path towards our camp. The walls were pounded and the water carried away old weapons. We were lucky we'd grabbed enough in time.

"Jason!" Suki ran out of the building. She didn't have a helmet on, just a chestplate, and her hair had been pulled back. The front pieces didn't fit in the ponytail though, and little icicles were already forming on it. "Jason, where is she?!"

I stared at the sky. In the black, rainy, icy, windy muck, I could see a face. I snatched a shield from someone and ran, jumping on top of an old dumpster. I banged my sword on the shield and shouted, "Tempestas!"

It didn't even seem like the goddess could hear me. I cursed, looking around for some way to make more noise, when Sebastian jumped onto the dumpster next to me. I barely even heard him, the wind was raging so violently. A wall of ice spread over the closest school exit towards us, and the demigods behind it began running to find the next one.

"Reyna!" I turned my attention to Sebastian, and saw him handing me a megaphone. I have no idea where he got it. Maybe he stole it. Sebastian's weird like that. He shouted something, but immediately slipped on the rain and sleet, and fall on his bottom. I didn't need to hear his voice to tell he was shouting several profanities.

I struggled with the megaphone, not really sure how to turn it on since the labels were rubbed off from years of use, but I recognized the familiar whir of a machine kicking on, no matter how small it was, and raised it to my mouth.

"TEMPESTAS!"

At first, nothing happened. Several legionnaires noticed me though, seemingly confused with my bizarre behavior. I couldn't see Suki anywhere, which was probably a good thing. It meant she was getting ready to strike. I was about to shout the goddess's name again when the storm suddenly broke.
