Dear Diary,

I already told Jason I wasn't auditioning to be his wife, but I did attend the auditions with Sebastian just to watch. One girl with brown hair was watching Suki like she was worried, which I found deeply disturbing, but Suki fluidly moved through her auditions without another word. By the end of the day, six more roles had been cast. Suki was now going to be playing Io and Semele, two of Jupiter's affair partners, as well as Maia, mother of Mercury (luckily, Jason didn't have to interact with her on this performance.) The brunette girl, Claire, had been cast as Juno, which was problematic for Jason, but there wasn't exactly any way around that. The final two roles cast were Marcus as Mars, his own ancestor, which made Sebastian angry, as well as Soledad to portray Diana, which everyone was looking forward to.

On our way back to the barracks, Suki asked me, "Are you entering any games?"

"Gladiator games," I said.

"Really?" She smiled a bit. "You should tell me when all of your matches are. I want to watch and cheer you on."

"Yeah, we'll make you a sign," Jason offered.

"Nuh-uh." Sebastian opened a candy bar and stuffed the trash in his pocket. "You guys need to make me a sign."

"We can make you both a sign," Suki offered. "We support both of our friends."

Sebastian rolled his eyes. "I'm your brother."

A girl- Claire- suddenly jogged in front of us. "Hey, guys!" Jason stopped dead in his tracks, probably terrified. "Congrats on all of your roles!" She then turned her attention to Suki. "I know we got off on the wrong foot, but do you think you could read lines with me?" Suki blinked in surprise. "We're gonna be working together pretty closely, right?"

Suki hesitated. "Um..."

"I've never acted before," Claire said, "but I really want to. I just want to make it feel... real, and less like a middle-school play."

"High school," Jason said awkwardly. "We're about to be freshman."

"Right, of course." Claire couldn't seem to care less about Jason, now. He looked surprised, and glanced at me as if trying to see if I had noticed it before or not, and I nodded subtly to reassure him that I had my eyes open, too. Claire turned her attention back to Suki. "We can make a day of it. Maybe get some dinner on the way back?"

Is she asking her out? Sebastian leaned down to my level and looked at me like he was losing his own mind. I crossed my arms and watched Suki, gauging her reaction. She seemed surprised, to say the least, and maybe a little bit embarrassed. "Um... okay."

"Cool!" Claire suddenly began walking away, waving Suki along. "What kind of food do you like to eat?"

Suki said an awkward goodbye to us and hurried to catch up to Claire, her leg lagging behind a little bit. "There's a new Thai place by the south woods..."

They walked off together, with Claire chirping happily and Suki awkwardly trotting alongside her, the stiffness in her leg betraying her mobility. The three of us were stuck in the road, dumbfounded, until finally Sebastian said, "Did that girl just ask my sister out on a date?"
