Dear Diary,

It felt nothing short of disturbing that Suki was so willing to dismiss a letter from her own dad, but she seemed to be in a decent mood, something I was too afraid of stripping from her. We put on a movie as background noise and played a few rounds of Jenga before Felix and Lisa got home. Felix offered to make us some food, but we declined. It was obvious that they were both tired, so they promptly went to bed. Suki and I knew we should be quiet for them, so we turned to volume down on the TV and played a quiet game; Go Fish.

"I hope Sebastian doesn't get dumped on the porch in a wheelbarrow," Suki muttered quietly. "He tends to lose his mind at most of these parties."

"This one will have less alcohol," I said, "so it shouldn't be that bad."

"Sebastian is crafty when he wants to be," Suki mumbled. "Sixes?"

"Go Fish." Suki drew her card, then gestured at me to take my turn. "Are you happy to be back home?"

"Definitely," Suki said. She blushed. "I haven't had to battle the shower yet, though."

I stared at the table. "Oh."

"Someone bathed me when I was unconscious," she mumbled, lowering her cards a bit. My own face turned red and I took a special interest in the two of hearts. "Do you, um... know who it was?"

"No," I lied. "Twos?"

She handed me one card. "I just, um... I'm thankful, of course." She brushed her hair aside. "But embarrassed. More embarrassed than Jason shaving my leg."

"Oh, he wasn't trying to be weird about that," I promised. "He says he's never really used a razor, and found it-"

"Really satisfying," Suki said with a soft laugh. "Yeah. And he used lotion on me, too, since he thought it might cheer me up."

"Did it?"

"Yeah, I guess," Suki said. "It was startling at first." She cleared her throat. "Um, it was nice of whoever bathed me. Gives me some... time to learn how to move in the shower again."

She knew it was me. I should've known better than to lie to her. I felt ashamed. "I'll be sure to tell the person that bathed you that you appreciated it." I mean, I had Lisa's help, of course. Suki was covered in blood, grease, grime, dirt, monster dust, splinters, scrapes, just about everything bad for a person to be covered in. And she wouldn't have been happy to wake up legless and filthy. Suki is neat, and is always very clean.

I don't know why I did it. I could've let Lisa do it alone. She's her mom. An adult. Maybe I let my guilt get to me and just wanted her to be clean. I didn't look or anything. Lisa handled that part. And I wasn't ever planning on telling Suki about ANY of it. I don't know what I was thinking. She's too smart to not figure it out. Maybe I was hoping that she'd believe fairies made her clean again.

"Reyna, you gave me a bath," Suki blurted out. "No more... speaking about things but not speaking."

I stared at the cards. "Lisa did the personal stuff."

"You still gave me a b-"

"I didn't look at your... parts. I just- I washed your hair and your arms and your legs."
