Hello again.
I looked up at Reyna. She seemed miserable. I knew her pink frilly collar of the dress was cleverly hiding the device below it. But her face had been neatly cleaned and she wore big blue earrings. Her classic Peach dress fit her nicely and ballooned at the bottom, and she had on the white gloves and the crown. He didn't bother putting her in a wig, so her dark hair style made her noticeably Reyna. He gave her a lot of styling and mousse, and her usual side-swept bangs were changed to resemble classic peach. It was unsettling how it had to happen, but she truly was just beautiful. I had trouble tearing my eyes away from her. To think she slept so close to me just a few hours ago was boggling, since if I was a stranger, I would have thought she was a goddess or something.
"Okay, Suki," Jason whispered. "I'm gonna blitz attack him when the race starts. We'll go around the right side-"
"Start your engines!" Dominic announced.
"I'll carry you up," Jason whispered. "You'll put him to sleep, and I'll take care of Reyna's device. But we have to wait for-"
"If you look in front of you, you'll see a mock demonstration of the power ups!" A small screen lowered on two wires, and powered up to show a hand-drawn flip show. "You'll race past a box, and reach up for your power-up! Now, I don't have every items due to budget, magic, and physical limitations, but I think I did pretty good. Simply grab it do what you must!"
Jason frowned. "This isn't much of a demons-"
I heard the familiar chime of the countdown. Halfway through the second, Sebastian laid on the gas. His lack of a helmet terrified me, and my whole throat clammed shut. The horn sounded, and Sebastian rocked down the first two curves with a scream.
I clutched my stomach. "Jason, I'm scared!"
Jason hugged me by the head. "He'll- He'll be okay." His voice was muffled. He didn't smell nice. "He'll be okay, ri-"
On the screen, Sebastian reached up for his first power-up. This whole thing was like a dream sequence I just couldn't wake up from. But he had a green turtle shell, which was just a wooden pile of junk spray-painted poorly. But he threw it and clacked Wall-E's car on the left rear tire. The whole thing spun out before stopping, and Wall-E had to clear the debris from the tire while Sebastian raced past him.
"YES!" cried Dominic, his hands reaching for the sky with glee. "YOU'VE DONE IT!"
Sebastian somehow drifted, which didn't give him that nice speed boost like in Mariokart 8, but it got him around the tight turn. The dracaena nearly flew off the map, but she hit the break just in time to save herself, whereas Sebastian rocketed into the tunnel of bats.
Jason and I looked at the screen. Rather than bats fly out, a bunch of lame puppet dolls plopped down. Sebastian spat out tissue-paper feathers as he hit the next set of question marks, which produced him with a red shell- only this was definitely some sort of magical device.
"When?" I whispered to Jason. "Round two?"
"Yeah," he agreed. "Just to know he made it safe."
Sebastian passed over some sort of blue tape, and the course change to metal. He looked down and flipped some sort of blue switch, and while in the game, his wheels would've become hovercraft-like, Sebastian's wheels did nothing different. But I guess something magnetic happened, because he slowed down a bit but defied the laws of physics by taking a 75 degree turn without slipping all the way off. His screamed echoed throughout the cavern.
