Dear Diary,

I held the bow out to Cupid, still a crippled old man, but he finally raised his eyes just slightly to look at me. "We retrieved your bow, my lord."

Next to him, Psyche- an old woman again- teared up and smiled at me. "You have no idea what this means to us."

Cupid extended a hand, struggling slightly as though the very effort pained him. It hurt for me to look at, so I extended the bow a bit further. His hand touched it, and a blinding white light flowed into the room. I heard Suki scream behind me as I collapsed, but her scream somehow faded into the sound of her laughter. When the light opened up, I was at some sort of campfire, surrounded by people I had never seen before. A boy, maybe fourteen, with shaggy black hair sat on my right. Suki was on my left. Her metal leg was touching me and she was laughing like she'd never found anything so funny in all her life.

I gasped as I came back to my present body, feeling a pain in my head. My knees throbbed and I realized I had hit them on the harsh floor. I looked up at Cupid, but he was nowhere to be seen. Psyche fluttered in the air, young and beautiful, before taking off in a flash, leaving me in a confused heap on the floor.

Suki's hands found my back and she helped pull me up. "Are you okay?"

I stared at her. And I realized the version of her that I'd seen in my vision was older, with a slightly deeper voice, and a brighter look in her eyes. "I don't know what happened."

She hesitated. "Well, um, you gave Cupid the bow, then a big flash happened, and you shouted and fell over, and then Psyche and Cupid left."

That's it? I got to my own feet and Suki pulled her hands away from me awkwardly. "Thanks." She shrugged and picked my bag up off the ground. I turned to the boys, who were whispering to each other weirdly, which I didn't really like. "Well, that was great."

Sebastian nodded. "Oh, totally. 'Hey, Cupid, we all almost died and your daughter wants to fuck me, see ya!' Not even a 'thank you' or 'I'm sorry my horny daughter shot you guys.'"

"I doubt he wants to hear about his horny daughter."

"The whole family is horny," Sebastian retorted. "Okay? The story is literally rooted in being horny."

Suki frowned. "You're tainting a beautiful love story."

"Beautiful?"

I didn't really knows the ins and outs of the myth, but I didn't need to hear about it. "How soon is the bus coming?"

Jason pursed his lips. "It got delayed, so we have about another hour."

Sebastian glared at him. "See, this is why I ain't early to anything. You had me here a half hour early-"

"Better to be safe than sorry," Jason argued.

"I AM SORRY!" Sebastian howled.

Suki quelled the situation by reaching into her pocket and finding one of the many Rubik's cubes she'd stocked up on. She handed it to Sebastian. "You need to beat your record of fifteen and a half minutes."
