Dear Diary,

"Hey." I snagged Jason before he could get into the amphitheater, and tugged him behind a wall. "I have some questions about legal proceedings here. How they work with the mortal world."

Jason's face fell. "Is this about-"

"Yes." I immediately backed away from him. "Why on earth do you smell like that?"

"It's a long story," Jason muttered, blushing as he fanned his armpits. "Well, we do have our justice system here, but if you need to deal with someone in the U.S., we work under the guise of a summer camp. Basically, you'll report it to mortal police nearby, and they take care of it like normal. It's just like if you go away for the summer and need to report any other crime." He swallowed. "What, uh... What happened?"

"She used the actual word." His face fell. "She literally said 'I forgot he raped me'. And then she just decided to bring me home to try some lemonade Lisa made."

"Did you tell Lisa?" he asked quietly.

"No," I said, shaking my head. "She doesn't want to tell, like, anyone. How do we go about that?"

Jason's eyes lit up. He static shocked me and I backed away even further. "Let's tell her therapist. He'll know how to handle it, right? How to ask her what happened and how to legally go forward. Should we talk to Sebastian?"

"Sebastian wants to take a baseball bat to Devon's crotch," I said, "which, admittedly, isn't a terrible idea, but we don't need Sebastian in jail, too..." I looked at Jason. "Are you a U.S. citizen?"

Jason thought long and hard. "Pretty sure, yeah. I would have to ask Soledad for the records to make sure. Why?"

"If you weren't a citizen, law couldn't catch you." I'm a law-abiding citizen and I like the rules, but I don't like people who rape girls.

Jason's eyes widened. "Well, you do it. You're Puerto Rican."

"I have American citizenship, Jason." I poked his chest. "Puerto Rico is an American territory. If anyone isn't legal, it's you."

"Sebastian's Dad is French! Maybe he-"

"And his American mom that he's spent his entire life with?" Jason looked down and I sighed. "The death of common sense..."

"Hey, I was raised in the legion, and they didn't exactly profess world geography dating after 150 A.D.," Jason said, trying and failing to defend himself. "Cut me some slack, okay?"

"I don't believe in cutting slack." I crossed my arms. "So, if we need to get this handled... could Soledad help with that?"

"Oh, easily," Jason said. "She's helped plenty of people with legal problems before, and she's good at keeping it discreet. Maybe you should go with Claire and talk to her about it. Y'know, 'cause she-"

"She knows a lot about the situation, too," I said. "Makes sense. I'll have to see. I mean, I want to get it done immediately, but I don't want to run Suki's whole week, y'know?" Jason nodded solemnly. "She's already struggling with the whole leg thing, but some girls invited her to a sleepover tonight. I don't want to just... knock her down."
