"Oh for heaven's sakes! Why are you four still here?" came the shrill tone of Madam Pomfrey, as she ushered herself about the infirmary. She glanced wearily towards the four Marauders, who were all still glued to the very same positions they had been when they arrived that same morning.
"Well it's not our fault someone we know always seems to be injured!" came the retaliation of James Potter, as he sat with his feet resting on top of the unconscious body of Hallie Brennan.
"Well you've been here the entirety of the day," Madam Pomfrey huffed, getting tired of seeing their faces every time she tried to treat the injuries of the girl. She ushered around Hallie's bedside, dabbing ointment against the wound on her arm. When she glanced up, not one of the four boys had moved. "For the last time, get out before I make you!"
"But Poppy," Sirius whined, still gripping a hold of Hallie's hand for dear life. "My girlfriend might be dying, so I need to stay!"
Madam Pomfrey sighed, placing a tiresome hand to her head in despair. "For the last time Mr Black, Miss Brennan is not dying. She will hopefully be awake in the next hour or so."
"Which is why we need to stay," James argued in response, widening his eyes towards the healer. "She will be scared if she wakes up alone."
"I assure you, Miss Brennan will not be afraid when she wakes up."
"You don't know that Poppy," Sirius added, gripping the girl's hand tighter. "She's just experienced a traumatic night and I want to be the one there to comfort her when she wakes up."
"Me too," chimed in James with a lopsided grin. James sent a warning glare to Remus.
The boy sighed, raising his arms in the air in exasperation. "Me three."
"Me three too," Peter grinned, before sending a questioning look towards the older lady. "Wait, I don't think that was right..."
"I give up, I really do," the older woman muttered, shaking her head tiresomely. "I'm giving you another half an hour, but that is all," the woman added, causing Sirius and James to grin towards each other happily.
"Thanks Poppy," Remus added politely, as the older woman headed back to her work station.
"What are we going to do for the next half hour?" Peter questioned, glancing towards the sleeping blonde with a tired yawn.
"Sit here and look pretty Pete," James beamed, looking towards Sirius with a vivant smirk. "Not hard at all."
"For me yeah," Sirius added. "You on the other hand might find that difficult Prongs."
"I'll have you know Padfoot, I'm an exceedingly good looking guy."
Sirius scoffed, looking towards Remus who shook his head with a tired smile. "Says who?"
"Says Lily," James responded proudly, puffing his chest out. "She told me I looked stunning."
"She said that so you'd leave us alone," Hallie mumbled, still unable to grant her eyes the allowance to peel open. "I've told you this already J."
"Hallie," came a chorus of happy voices, as she reluctantly opened her eyes, straining them slightly against the brightness of the Hospital Wing. Almost immediately, she felt the presence of both James and Sirius' faces looming over her.
"Remus, Peter help, i'm terrified," the girl teased, shoving hands in the two boys' faces to push them away.
"That's rude to say to your insanely hot and attractive boyfriend," Sirius spoke dramatically, placing a feigned hand to his heart. "How will I ever recover?"
