The following few months passed by relatively quickly for the group of friends. Marlene and Mary had officially begun dating, moving into an little cottage just outside of Godric's Hollow. Remus had also moved into a beachfront cottage and away from his parents' home, which was a delightful, secluded, little house, which Hallie and Sirius opted to visit frequently.

However, the most exciting news was that James had proposed to Lily on Christmas eve of '78, meaning that the months leading up to the summer were full of preparations for the best wedding imaginable.

Everyone, more so the four girls with help from Mia, had spent the majority of their free time planning the perfect wedding for the couple.

Although James and Lily had wanted to wait a while before they got married, news of Fleamont and Euphemia contracting a rare case of Dragon Pox was discovered that spring. Although the two older Potters remained positive and productive, all of their children could see the light slowly fading from each of them in turn.

Hallie had cried her eyes out, when Euphemia commented on 'her time being near.'

There was no love or kindness or happiness in a world where Euphemia Potter wasn't, nor mischief and laughter without Monty.

Their dying wish was to see their son get married.

So, the Potter wedding took place on the first day of June.

The ceremony was set to take place upon the grounds of the Potter estate, inside a large marquee, with countless enchantments surrounding the vast area. There weren't going to be many guests, considering the war, yet both Lily and James both seemed rather content with a small wedding, surrounded by their close family, colleagues and friends.

The day of the wedding soon came by, filled with a flurry of excitement and nerves. Lily sat beside the blonde, resting her head against Hallie's shoulder, as she let a gentle stream of tears flow down her cheeks.

"I just can't believe it, my own sister!" Lily choked out, as Hallie rubbed comforting circles across the girl's arm. "I know she despises me, but to not come to her own sister's wedding."

"There are words that I want to say, but won't as there are children in our company," Hallie muttered angrily, successfully holding her tongue. She cast her gaze over to Fred and George Weasley, Molly and Arthur's children, who were playing happily in the corner of the room.

"I just feel stupid Hals," Lily mumbled, burying her head in the crook of the girl's shoulder. "I really thought she would come."

"You don't need that backstabbing, ugly bi..." Hallie began, before catching sight of a wide-eyed George Weasley, gaping towards her.,"...that woman. I love you so much Lils," Hallie smiled, kissing the girl's head softly. "You've always got me, Marls, Soph and Mary. Always."

Fred toddled his way over to the two girls, giggling as Hallie picked up the little ginger boy and planted him in her lap.

"You know, a very wise person once told me that family doesn't have to be defined by your blood. It's the people who you surround yourself with and love you eternally that are your family."

"Remus has his way with words," Lily replied, tickling Fred's cheek softly.

Hallie tried to contain her smile. "James said that to me actually," she added, causing Lily to look up in confusion. "I probably shouldn't have used wise and James Potter in the same sentence, but I did think he sounded rather smart for once."

"Are you sure he didn't read that somewhere?" Lily questioned. "Not that he doesn't have a charm with his words, but that sounds awfully loving for the two of you."
