Following an early and gruelling quidditch training session that morning for their upcoming match, Sophia and Hallie joined the rest of the girls down in the common room.

Hallie sat herself beside Lily - her vibrant red hair cascading over both her shoulders and her green eyes deeply engrossed in her potions textbook. NEWT's were fast approaching, meaning the Gryffindors were spending every free moment of their time either in the common room or in the library, surrounded by a precocious amount of books and parchment.

Hallie watched once more as Lily's eyes fervently scanned each page, before she'd flip immediately to the next, repeating the same concept. Hallie let her jaw drop.

"Fucking hell Lils. Those eyes of yours are doing more exercise than we just did in training."

Lily shook her head, still deeply engrossed in the pages. "NEWT's are only a week away Hallie. Plus I'm learning about the Scintillation solution from last year. It's complex."

Hallie glanced over towards Mary, who merely shrugged back. "The what now?"

Lily looked towards Hallie in disappointment. "The Scintillation solution Hallie. The potion we learnt about last year, which makes objects immersed in the potion shine?"

Hallie shook her head in dismissal, throwing herself dramatically down onto the couch. "Must have been ill for that one," she mumbled tiredly, lying behind Lily so she could gently play with the girl's locks of ginger hair.

Lily placed her book down, turning towards the blonde with an evident frown. "Hallie you partnered with me..."

"No, I was definitely ill Lils," Hallie replied with certainty. "I would have remembered it otherwise."

"Whatever you say," Lily shrugged, turning back to her book.

Hallie lay her head back, closing her eyes momentarily. The common room was unusually quiet that Saturday morning; the only people awake being two 5th years and the 7th year Gryffindors, who all seemed to be cramming in last minute revision for their upcoming examinations.

She let out a deep, audible sigh, before eventually picking up her transfiguration textbook, ready to look over the bird-conjuring charm. However, as she glanced over, she giggled quietly to herself, noticing Marlene had fallen asleep over her charms book, drooling slightly at the mouth. A wicked grin made its way onto the girl's face, as she slowly got up from the sofa, tiptoeing over towards the gryffindor girl.

"She'll kill you," muttered Lily, not even sparing a glance up from her book.

Hallie's mouth dropped unceremoniously, looking over at her best friend in confusion. Hallie often wondered how Lily Evans knew she was going to cause havoc before she had even done it.

"Marls has nothing on me Lily," Hallie shrugged, getting her wand hastily from her pocket. Sophia had now completely disregarded her potions essay, instead watching in amusement as the veela began levitating items from around the room to stack upon Marlene.

"Is this really a good use of your time Hallie?" Mary queried from her spot at the other end of the table.

The blonde grinned broadly. "Absolutely."

Soon the precarious stack of books and other mis-shaped items spanned roughly half a metre in height upon Marlene's head. Hallie raised her wand in order to levitate the last book on top of the stack, before a herd of arrogant voices filled the once peaceful common room.

"Alright lady marauders!" James chortled, bursting his way through the portrait hole.

Marlene woke up completely startled, causing the stack of books to fall on top of her. "Shit!" she cursed, nursing her sore head, whilst the others laughed. "Which one of you dickheads did that?"
