TW: overstimulation (character experience)
-
The screams erupted from the rides surrounding us. I giggled.
"Why is everyone so terrified? They can't be that terrible," I pointed out.
Wilhelm shook his head, "I would be screaming too."
"You're such a baby," I scoffed.
He shrugged, laughing to himself. I grabbed his hand and intertwined his fingers with mine. We began to make our way towards the funnel cakes.
"Just one please!" I smiled at the worker inside the truck.
They nodded, turning to give me change and submit the order. I grabbed the money from his hand. Before sitting down, Wilhelm and I snatched the paper plate our funnel cake sat on. We soon rested in the grass.
"You have an eyelash under your eye," Wille pointed out.
I folded my hands in my lap, "Get it for me then."
"Of course, your majesty," Wilhelm gigged before reaching his hand under my eye.
He shook so much that the tip of his finger reached into my eyeball.
"Ouch!" My hands shot up to my eye.
Wilhelm panicked, "Are you okay? I am so sorry, Simon."
I chuckled, "It's whatever, Wille."
"Okay. Okay," He nodded.
I suggested we go ride some rides. Wilhelm only agreed to join me on the tame rides.
"Look at the view!" Wille pointed as we made it to the top of the Ferris wheel.
I giggled, "it's gorgeous."
My head fell onto his shoulder, cuddling into the crook of his neck. My eyes fell shut. We stopped at the top for a minute while others swapped seats. I clutched his hand in mine. The wind blew around us, filling my ears and sending a slight shiver down my spine. Wille's head fell on top of mine.
"I never thought I would be this in love," I spat out.
He straightened up and looked at me, "me neither."
I glanced back at him, a faint red across my cheeks. I giggled before placing a small kiss on his lips. We hopped off the Ferris wheel after making our way back to the ground and skipped toward the carousel. I smiled at Wille.
"I better get the shark," he pointed at the animal he wanted.
I nodded, "you will get the shark. You're the Crown Prince!"
The gate opened and we headed towards the shark. Once we had made it there, a kid was sitting directly on the shark.
"Oh, hello, Your Highness and Prince Simon," the mom was caught off guard.
I smiled, "hello!"
"Did you want the shark? I can get my son off of it," she worried.
I swallowed, looking over at Wille. He was biting his lip before he spoke.
"He can have it! I actually wanted to get on this giraffe!" He pointed to an empty giraffe about two rows back.
A grin appeared on my face at the sight of his kindness with a hint of lying. We got on the giraffe and the horse next to it with ease.
"That was really kind, Wille," I blushed.
He glanced over at me, "it was the right thing to do. I don't want special privileges."
I nodded, "that's understandable."
The music changed and we began to go around in circles. Wille held my hand as we went up and down. The animals didn't match up and we reached for each other's hand with chuckles. I held onto the gold pole as we looked at each other. I allowed my head to fall onto the gold in front of me. We stared at each other for awhile. The music faded into a different song as we slowed down, eventually coming to a stop. His hand led me off of the ride.
"I think you might have an eyelash I should get for you!" I pointed at his face.
His put his palm to his forehead, "I'll get it myself."
He wiped the eyelash from his cheek as I giggled. We headed back towards the teacups. As we stood in line, I fidgeted with my rings.
"Are you okay?" Wille noticed.
I grinned at him, "yeah! Just a little overstimulated."
All of the lights began to mesh together and the noises blurred. I gulped, looking around for a quiet place. Nothing to be seen. I looked slightly up to see Wilhelm looking at me, concerned. A frown rested on his face as he placed his hands over my ears. We made our way out of the fair.
He held my hand the second we sat in the backseat of Malin's car.
"Why back so early, Wilhelm?" She questioned.
He swallowed as my head fell onto his shoulder.
"Simon's head is going round and round. I just don't want him to be uncomfortable," he explained.
I shut my eyes after seeing Malin nod and begin to drive off.

"Thank you for earlier," I traced my finger along his bare chest.
He messed with my curls, "it's my duty as your boyfriend."
I giggled. We were sitting in his bedroom two hours later. Love Island was quietly playing on the television as we cuddled. My head rested in the crook of his armpit.
"We should go back tomorrow," I suggested.
"Simon, I don't want you feeling like that again," he remarked.
I bit my lip, "but you love the fair."
"I don't love the fair if you're uncomfortable."
I nodded and allowed my eyes to fall shut into slumber.
