Chapter Thirteen

Azania

We are all getting ready for the ball at Sarah's house and I've tried on a thousand different dresses but it's still doesn't seem to be 'perfect for me' at least that's what Sarah says. "I am so excited. This is a ball, I mean actual ball." Sarah says looking happier than ever.

"I mean, it is what it is. At least now we can get a few questions and tiny interviews in and all the rich people around this place." I say. "Dude, we are the rich people." Natalia says.

"I know, but you know what I mean." "Yeah you're right. I can't wait." Sky says, finally coming out of the bathroom to show us her dress.

"Wow Sky, you look amazing." I say in absolute and utter awe. Emerald green really is her colour. "Adorable. Absolutely adorable. Oh my gosh, I could squeeze you to death right now." Sarah says walking over to Sky, but I stop her before she can kill the girl.

"Sarah, I love you, I really do, but I need a dress. And the ones I try on you keep on rejecting. We don't have all night people." I say completely over the fact that I can't seem to get changed.

"Yeah she's right. She's literally the only one of us that doesn't have a dress on." Natalia says, she's wearing a red silky mini dress. It's not too short at least it reaches her knees and it looks amazing on her.

"I don't know, its just these dresses just don't suit you, especially with these silver streaks in your hair. I mean, you'd think that you're the dress that you were wearing at Nick's party would fit you, but it doesn't anymore." Sarah says, pouting her lips.

"Yeah, well times and people change." I say. "You got that right." Natalia agrees. "Knock, knock." Molly opens the door slowly with a beautiful silver dress in her hand.

"I just wanted to give this to Azania I tried to give it to Sarah but she said that she loves gold and not silver and I figured with the silver streaks in your hair that you must love the colour. This was an old dress of mine that I wore to my high school dance. I hope that you'll like it."

Molly says. And she really is the kindest person in the world. "Oh my God, this is perfect." Sarah says, gawking at it like it's God's gift to the world.

She hands me the dress and pushes me into the bathroom. "Go, go, go. We're running late and this is perfect for you." Sarah says like she isn't the one who delayed us in the first place. "Alright, alright. Geez." I say.

I walk out of the bathroom to see everybody staring at me in absolute awe. I mean, the dress was amazing and it looked pretty good on me. I just didn't expect everybody to be so shocked.

"Wow, mom really did make the right call. You look amazing." Sarah says. "Thank you and I know right." I say. Just then we hear an impatient knock on the door. "Can you guys hurry up? It's been 5 hours. The night doesn't last forever you know?"

Mike says in a very impatient and annoyed tone. "Alright, we'll be right out. Geez." I say, trying my best to hold in my inevitable laughter. Because I knew if I laughed, it would only make him more pissed than he already is.

We all make it to the ball. It's incredible the place is. huge. Like when I say huge, I mean castle huge. There are so many people. For whatever reason, Steyn likes to host these things randomly. But I'm not complaining, this gives me enough cover and I can interrogate people as much as I want. I really have to thank Molly when we're done with this. I would have not been able to do this without her.

"Whoa, this place is huge." Sky says. "I feel like I'm in heaven." Sarah says. "Or hell." Natalia offers, not looking too pleased to be here. I never really imagined that balls were her type of scene anyway. "Either way, this can help us investigate people while also having enough cover we might as well just be having casual conversation, just a question or two in the middle of it."
