Chapter Fifty-Eight

I'm staring at myself in the Hall of Fame. It was recently built after we solved Aurora's case.I couldn't have done it without my best friends by my side. We all have our own photos.That's one thing that I requested, Anna gave us all awards for solving the case. We all lookso happy.

I touch my short hair, it's at shoulder length now. Emily and I used to have onesimilar trait, our long brown hair. I dyed my hair black now. "There you are. I finally foundyou. Come on, we have to go. It's about to start." Sarah says, dragging me with her, runningout of the hall.

And we make it just in time to hear the speeches. As soon as Nicholas andthe other guys get their diplomas, Sarah, Sky, Natalia and I are the loudest ones cheering. Idon't miss the way Mike rolls his eyes like he doesn't love all the attention.

As soon asNicholas gets off stage, I run up to him and hug him tight wrapping my legs around hiswaist. "You did it." I say to him excitedly. "I did it." He says back. To me, this is bittersweet.Although Nicholas and other guys graduated, it means that they're not going to be hereanymore.

Unfortunately, we still have to stay in school for two years. I know that Nicholasis leaving after graduation. He told me that he is the future leader of the mafia and he hasto go back to LA. Tears are streaming down my face, which doesn't happen too often.

Hewipes them away, smiles and kisses me. "Promise you'll come back for me?" "I promise."He says. Anna promoted me as her second hand even though there were many protests.She said that it's non negotiable. I have a feeling it's because I have her sister's face, but Idid solve Aurora's case.

And so in her eyes, it's worthy of becoming the second hand ofSteyn City. I'm second in control. It's insane to think a 16 year old is in second in controllingof an entire estate and managed to solve a case that police tried to solve for years. Ormaybe they didn't.

I visited Klaus in jail the other day and gave him the gender of his unbornbaby. It was a girl. He was the first time I ever saw him cry. Immediately after I gave him theenvelope, I left. He deserved some privacy, even if he's a criminal.

We're all in the coffee shop one last time. Because after this, Nate is going to go with Nickto LA, Grayson is going to go back to his country to be king. And Mike is going to go to rehab."What are we going to do now?" Natalia asked. "I have no idea." Mike responses.

"I mean,at least we can phone each other, right?" Sarah says, trying to hold back tears. "I mean, it'sonly two years. And then you'll all go to university." Nate says. "Two years is a long time." Isay. Hand underneath my chin and I'm holding Nicholas's hand on top of the table.

I look athim. A tiny smile touches my lips. As if he can sense that I'm looking, he looks at me. Thisisn't the end for us. It can't be. I finally decided to forgive him. And I'm so glad that he cameback.

Even if they're still part of his past that I don't know, like what happened before hisparents died, He doesn't really go into detail about that. What happened in his house? I hope one day he will open up to me fully. But for now, we'll have to wait and see. "I'll bewaiting for you." I mouthed to him. He smiles. "I'm counting on it." He mouths back.

The next day, I watch as the black limo takes Nicholas and Nate out of the estate. I'mwaving to him inside of the walls of the estate as he crosses the gates to go out. It tookabout one second before tears starts streaming down my face as he turns the corner.

Butthis is the way that it's supposed to happen. This was supposed to be the way that heleaves, not the way that he did before. Now it finally feels right, knowing the truth andknowing why he's leaving. He's living life, moving on, and I can accept that. He loves meand I love him too, and that will never change.
