After Miss Fitz is done with her class, Grayson arrives at the door and that's when I know that it's time for us to start.
Sky seems a bit nervous and is still sitting down but that's what she usually looks like. "I'm sorry to bother you miss Fitz, but we wanted to ask you a few questions." I say as Grayson closes the door behind him.
"It's about Aurora Steyn, more specifically in this case, your older sister." Miss Fitz looks horrified for a split second then cools her features.
"I'm sorry, but I really can't help you. I barely even knew what she was like." "That's a lie." Grayson says. "I'm sorry kids, but I really cannot help you with this." Miss Fitz says.
"I'm sorry if it feels like we're ambushing you, but we really just want to get answers. We're doing this for a project, you see, and Grayson is here to help us." I say. "Well, isn't this a rather inappropriate topic to choose for a project?" Miss Fitz says.
"We just really want a few answers. Only a few, and then we'll leave, I promise you." Sky says. "Alright, only a few questions and then you all should be on your way." Miss Fitz says, seemingly knowing that we wouldn't back down.
She sits back on her chair and lays the books that she was carrying back on her desk. I grabbed one of the tables and put it closer to her table and sit on it. "What happened to your sister?" I ask after starting the recorder on my phone. "She killed herself." Miss Fitz answers. "How did she do it?" Grayson asks. "By jumping off the cliff into the lake." "Who witnessed it?" I ask.
"I witnessed it as well as Aurora Steyn but because she was rich and her father was is the creator of Steyn City, he made sure that she had a good name and declared that she was not there. I witnessed it all, every single last bit of it." "What was said before she jumped off the cliff?" Grayson asks.
"She was talking to Aurora. She told her how much she loved her and Aurora rejected her and so my sister went crazy. She was insane. She should have died a long time ago. In fact, she shouldn't have been born. That psycho.
She was obsessed with Aurora. She wouldn't let her go. She planned to be her friend, planned to be the perfect partner in crime for her.
She made sure to watch her all the time to know every single little detail about her so that when they eventually talked, she knew everything. She knew how to be perfect for Aurora. When she finally admitted what she did, Aurora was obviously horrified.
But she begged my sister not to kill herself and she did it anyway. Before she jumped off the cliff. She said. "This is for you. I love you. I will always love you forever, we will be together forever." Good riddance if you ask me."
I just sit there staring at her in shock. That's insane. But so familiar at the same time. "What happened after she jumped off the cliff? What did Aurora do?" I ask.
"She screamed and then she called police who claimed that she wasn't there. I don't know what happened after that because I ran off. I didn't want them to spot me. My sister was mentally ill for a long time. She finally got out of the hospital and did then did that."
"Thank you for your time, but I think we're done here." Grayson says. "Yes well, I should be getting home." Miss Fitz says and then leaves the classroom. Not long after, we follow suit. I'm still in shock from everything that she told me. "I guess that's the price you pay for being rich and beautiful. Aurora was known as the most beautiful girl in the estate." Grayson says. "It's not fair. She shouldn't have to suffer so much just because of who her family is. She didn't ask for this life, she never asked for it." I say.
"Well, I guess that's the price that you pay and the worst part is it seems like you have such a good life, but in reality it's the worst life in the world and nobody will ever understand even if you admit it. They will just think that you're ungrateful." Sky says from the look in her eyes. I feel like this hit a little too close to home.
I wonder what it's like in her house. Why she looks so sad all the time. "Well, we got everything that we need, now we just need to go to the others and show them." "Yeah, you're right." No matter how brutal this case gets, we won't stop. The determination is booming through my body, and even though I should be horrified, I'm not. This will not stop me. Nothing will. Not even death.
