Chapter Twenty-Eight

Once we're all dressed in our mini dresses, Sarah in a gold one, I am in a silver one, Sky is in a silk green one and Natalia is in a red one. "Wow, we all look amazing." I say, looking at us through the mirror in Sarah's room. "Yeah, we really do." Natalia says.

Sarah looks a bit nervous and doesn't say much, which is odd because she loves to be the fashionista. Maybe it's because of X's message. "Sarah, you don't have to say anything if you don't want to." I say, trying my best to comfort her.

"It doesn't matter whether I say something or I don't because X will say it and he won't care because it's not his secret." "Well, screw X, all right? It's not his secret, that's true. So it's not his secret to tell."

"It doesn't really matter to him. He will spill it no matter what. Once the clock strikes midnight, my one secret, the one secret that I've had for years will come out."

"If you want my advice, I'd say to party and party hard. Keep your mind away from it. It's your birthday, you deserve to be happy. Alright. It's your special day, so do whatever you need to do, even if it means faking it until you make it."

"You're right, fake it till you make it." "Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we did tell the guys that we would be down soon." Sky says. She looks so much happier and lighter than she used to. I can really tell the difference. She can finally explore her options and clothing.

She's finally free. She's smiling more laughing more, even talking more. "Yeah, you're right. I guess they've waited long enough." I say. "By the way, I have to add, you are rocking those wide fishnet leggings." Sarah says, and I can tell she's slowly going back to her old self.

We make it back down to the guys. They don't seem too happy about our outfits but go with it anyway. Because they know we won't listen to them.

We make it to a stupid jocks house. "And we're here." I say. I feel a hot body piercing my back. Nicholas leans down and whispers in my ear. "I'm not leaving your side." He says. "Yes you are. I want to relax and enjoy the party, with you by my side I will be a piranha. Leave me be."

Nicholas and I have a sort of friends with benefits situation going on. He was my first and I'm pretty sure he's going to make sure that he's my last as well. "Alright, girls, it's time to party away." Natalia says, linking all of our arms and dragging us inside.

"I have an idea. Why don't we scatter? so the guys can't hang around us." I say. "I like that idea. This place is filled with too many people for them to find us right away." Natalia says. "I don't know, I kind of prefer having the guys protecting us at parties." Sky says.

"Well then you can stay with the guys and we'll go, try your best to distract them and keep their attention away from finding us please." I say, looking at Sky. "Alright, you guys have fun." She says, walking to the front door where the guys probably are.

"Alright, it's time to scatter. You guys have fun." I say, running up the stairs knowing that Nicholas will be hot on my heels if I don't leave right this second.

I'm not sure how many drinks I've had but I know that I've had a lot. Everything is spinning and I can't even walk straight. If I'm walking at all I'm not sure. I don't know where I am, the party's loud music is booming all around me.

"Hey there, you look like you could use some company. Want to go inside that room with me and have some fun?" A guy with a blurry figure says. "No, I don't. Now leave me alone." I say, and I'm pretty sure I'm leaning on a wall for support. "Come on, It'll be fun." He says, stepping closer.

"No." "You know you want to. I mean, wearing that dress, you're just asking for it." He puts his body against me, pressing me to the wall and starts kissing my neck. I tried to push him away but it's no use, he's too strong.

"Stop it." I say but it's barely heard over the party's music I know that he can hear me but he still doesn't stop until someone drags him off my and punches him. "Oh fuck man. What the fuck!" The guy shouts. "Don't ever touch her again!" Nicholas shouts.

"Whatever she's just a whore I wanted to fuck." The guy says holding he bleeding nose. "You take that back right now." Nicholas says holding the guy by his shit and lifting him off the ground I never heard Nicholas so serious before, it even scares me a little bit.

The guy looks at me over Nicholas shoulder with a pleading and scared look on his face, but when he sees the look on my face he knows it's no use. "I'm s-sorry, p-please l-let me g-go." He studders and Nicholas shoves him then turns to me.

"Were you insane? What are you doing up here by yourself?" He says, seething with anger. "I was just having fun until that idiot decided to hit on me. I don't need you to protect me all the time." I say. Sobering up, little by little. "Well, this entire situation says otherwise."

"Whatever ok, whatever. I just wanted to have fun and most importantly, I wanted Sarah to have fun. We didn't want you guys hovering over us, that's why we split up." "Well, that was a dumb idea." "Or maybe-" Before I could finish my sentence, we hear blood curdling scream and I recognize that scream.

My head snaps to the left and then turns to Nicholas with wide eyes. "Sarah." I say before running and bursting into a room.
