I pulled away from the hug. "Let me thank you".

"Just this once okay"? I nodded to her request. I held her tightly. "You've been the perfect friend El".

"Shut up butt. You'd do the same thing times two if I was in your position". She wasn't wrong. I'd tear  apart my life for hers. "You're right but still. You like brought me out of this really dark spot where I didn't even know how to ask for help". Her eyes started to water. "Don't cry cause I'll cry and I'm an ugly cryer". Ellie smiled and her nose scrunched as she did. Just the way that Billie's used to.

The second that thought came into my head I pushed it away. I had to.

"So when does Quen want to do this photo shoot thing"?

We sat on the couch watching the movie : Bolt. We were on an animation movie streak. Next was studio ghibli, my pick obviously.

"I have no clue". Hm I'm kind of excited now for this promotion thing. More excited to help Quen launch her clothing brand, calling it merch made it sound cheap. It was not cheap.

"I'll shoot her a text". And so I did. I don't get an immediate response. So while we waited we watched movies together.

I also started looking into colleges. Some near by and even some out of state. I really couldn't imagine not being less than an hour away from my mom. So those went out quickly.

"You got a couple messages". I looked at my phone and saw the green app on my Lock Screen. Which was now a picture of Arlo. I grabbed my phone and looked at the name.

Finn- great song! Love all the aspects of it

I don't know how to respond. Was he being sarcastic. I really doubt it. He's not that kind of person.

Y/n- you made producing music look like a breeze. What a fucking lie

Finn- hey it's hard but you rocked it

Y/n- it's mediocre at best

Finn- I'm being serious Y/n that song has a lot of emotion

Finn- we should work on something, I could use some new style like yours

Y/n- I'm tempted

Finn- I have my own studio in my new basement, but I understand if it's still too soon

I liked his message. And found it difficult not to ask him how she was doing. It took every ounce of self control and self care not to.
