"Look at this one." Billie showed me the small weenie dog. I immediately pulled out my phone and took a picture of the little baby dog. "Y/n please". I shook my head. "No hes going to get adopted by someone else. I want someone other people won't want to adopt". She frowned.
I looked around the kennel. All of these dogs are getting adopted. "Aggressive". Claudia read. There was this pitbull in the corner. "What's up with us and pit bulls"? I said what we were all thinking. "I don't know but I love him".
I looked at Billie. "No new puppy"? I asked. "Noooo". She admitted she was happy with shark. She wanted to give her full undivided attention to him. "You can always help with this little guy". Claudia led me to peaches kennel. "Oh he's so scared". I could fucking cry right now. "Shark and Arlo and Gonna love him. But they're gonna annoy him first". I smiled at the thought of Arlo being annoyed. His expression. Well he already makes that expression at me sometimes.
We got the paper work all figured out. Turns out peaches is a girl. But that doesn't matter. She was still the shyest little girl in the world.
"Hey baby girl". She pulled away from my touch. She would need a lot of training and even more love. "That's alright. I'll get to know you". I just looked at her. Fuck I love dogs so much they're just the best fucking thing ever.
"Y/n". I looked up at Claudia who was smiling at me with all these papers in her hand. "Ready"? I asked. Getting up slowly as not to scare her. "Yup". She smiled before turning to Finn. "I hope you know this will partially be my dog too". I pointed a finger at both of them. "I mean yeah why not". Finneas shrugged.
We walked out with a whole crate. Dog food and treats. She didn't even wine likely because she got scolded for it. I'll kill for you.
"Her names peaches". Billie said her hand in my shoulder. "I love her Billie. We should have gotten one". I frowned and she smiled at my frown. "It's okay baby doll. Arlos at home and so is shark". Her hand held mine. Now why the fuck am I crying?
She wiped my tears away. "It's okay baby. We'll get a nice house and have all the dogs in the world". She comforted me. "I'm just going to miss you so much". I admitted. Shoving myself into her arms. Even with our seatbelts on which by the way is actually so uncomfortable. "You have to go. For your heart". She put her hand on my chest. "I know". I whispered with sadness. "I love you". She said with this doe look in her eyes. I believe it and I feel it so I repeat it.
"I love you".
- I was sitting next to peaches open crate. A treat in hand. At first I placed the treat in her crate. So she would be able to smell it and get familiar with it. Eventually she ate it. And now was actually facing me. I didn't make eye contact as I loosely held the treat in my hand. I could feel her inching closer. Her little front teeth grabbed it like squidward ate that Krabby patty. I didn't yell in excitement but I felt it.
"Good girl peaches". I smiled still not making eye contact.
"Come give me attention". Billie complained. "You've been on that damn phone. Peaches actually pays attention".
