I folded up the box so that I could put some of my vases in there. Next to me was some bubble wrap.
You would think that moving in one day would be such a horribly stressful experience. But honestly it's not. I was taking my time with everything.
Quen was working on the living room. Ellie was working on my room. Sandy was working in the extra room. Brady and Omar were moving furniture which I was going to donate. Except my bad. That shit was expensive and it's lived in, like broken in.
Anyway I'm sitting criss-cross wrapping the bubble wrap all around these vases. They're mostly from my mom so I'm keeping most of them.
I was humming to the music playing. God it's going to be a bitch to redo the whole houses surround system. I mumbled under my breath in anger. "What are you groaning and mumbling about". I continued wrapping but I looked up. Ellie was pushing a box towards the living room. She was wearing an old shirt of mine, she said her clothes were too good to get dirty.
"About how I'm going to have to redo the surround system of my house". I tore some tape up with my teeth. "Oh that's going to suck. But I can help you".
"You're being too helpful recently. It's freaking me out". I admitted placing the last case into the box. "Why would it freak you out. I'm always nice". She not lying but something was off. Something was up. "Righttt"? I squinted my eyes as I tracked her as she left back into my room.
Billie's POV
I turned my car off and just sat there for a bit. I kept wearing the clothes for a couple of days until eventually they no longer smelled like her.
It's been about a week now since she left the box on my parents front door. I never even got to show her my own house. I'm such a fucking idiot.
Everything has seemed more depressing since I read that letter, especially after reading how she thought of marrying me.
I shook my head and grabbed my bag.
I couldn't think of that anymore or i was going to do something irrational.
I grabbed my shit and walked into my parents house. The smell of brownies shifted into my nose. "I smell fooood". I yelled as I walked into the kitchen. The pep in my step stopped when I saw Jesse there.
"Hi". He stopped chewing the brownie and got up from his seat to give me a hug. One which I returned. "Hey". I looked at my mom for some sort of response as to why he was here. She just kept her head down and shrugged.
"Here". She placed two brownies on the plate and scooted the plate towards me. "Thank you". I grabbed one and chewed into it. It was so soft but the top was a little crunchy.
"I was thinking since we both have some free time. We could get to know each other better. Like hang out". He had sunglasses inside. That's all I needed to know that nothing in me could like him. Now if Y/n had sunglasses inside, that's a different story.
"Hang out and do what"? I questioned taking my second bite. "We could go to a restaurant. Or a park".
"Those all sound like date locations". I called him out and he smiled. "I know". Jesse spoke with confidence. Fuck I do like confidence.
"I'm going to put some of these brownies away for a delivery". I furrowed at my mom's words. "To who"?
"Y/n loves my brownies". No fucking way my mom was keeping me checked. I laughed. "Okay mother". I smiled letting her know she got her point across.
"So"? Jesse interrupted. "So, I just got out of a break up and I'm not ready to 'hang out'. I just need friends right now". I grabbed myself some ice cream for my last brownies.
