Originally supposed to follow the story "Heart Of The Country" but it didn't end up happening. Which is okay. I think this is the longest one I've done yet.

Mid-1970's
At the Harrison's, George, Olivia and Dhani were packing their bags to go on a two day holiday to Brighton with five other people:
Linda, Paul, Heather, Mary and Stella. Everyone else was busy.
The little boy shoved a kazoo into his pocket, knowing how portable those were and put one in George's, then picked up a ukulele.
"We bring this, Daddy?" George had nodded, then his son picked up a garden gnome "and this?"
"No, Dhani, we don't need a gnome." George honestly looked a bit confused.
"We're mostly bringing clothes, dear," Olivia said sweetly.
"Oh." Said the 3-year-old. He found some more things, which his parents had to keep reminding him not to bring.
Dhani did get to put a tambourine in the suitcase, which he found funny that the suitcase made that sound when moved.
--
Meanwhile, Linda and Paul were doing the same thing. "We'll need these," Paul said as he packed some shirts. He also packed up a guitar.
"We need this!" Stella tried to put a pillow in the suitcase. It obviously wouldn't fit.
"No, they have some, Stella." Paul said gently. "But good thinking."
"I wish we could bring Martha. And Lucky!" said Mary, packing her clothes.
"I know! But the house doesn't allow dogs. They'll be okay, though. So will the rest of the animals." Linda assured her kids. She had asked a friend to help out.
Mary crouched down to pet Martha before they had to leave. "I'll miss you, Martha!" The dog barked and wagged her tail.
"My bag is packed!" Heather said happily, walking into the room.
"Pack up all my cares and woes, here I go, singing low..hmmm.. bye bye, blackbird.." Paul began to sing in a funny voice. It made the younger girls laugh.
Stella tried to copy how everyone was packing up, though she had a similar problem to Dhani - not realising what wasn't important.
--
They got in the car and picked up their friends.
Stella gave Dhani a big hug and accidentally knocking him over; he was slightly smaller. He got up fine. And Paul started driving again.
Dhani was playing rock and roll songs on kazoo in one hand and holding onto his teddy bear in the other. Mary and Stella clapped along.
"How does he know those old songs? Do you teach him, Geo?" Paul wondered.
"I do listen to lots of music with him around, yes, and I sing a lot of it too. So in a way." George nodded.
"I think that's wonderful." Linda said with a small smile.
-
Finally, the group arrived at the holiday house near the beach, and the kids ran like mad around the rooms while the adults unpacked.
"Maybe we should take them for a walk after dinner," Paul suggested, catching Dhani before he ran into the furniture and holding him tight.
"Because your boy is especially full of energy, George." He added.
