1985

John was in his car, driving to Freddie's house to visit him. He would've happily gone by himself, but his wife Veronica was quite busy and he offered to take the kids with him, because they also enjoyed going out and such.

Robert and Michael were talking about comic books and things like that, while Laura listened quietly.

She was interested too but sometimes, like her father, preferred to just listen.

Joshua puts his hand against the car window, his eyes intrigued by everything around him. "Daddy!"

"Yes, Josh?" John asks, keeping his eyes on the road.

"I'm happy!" Joshua answers with a grin.

At the thought of what they were doing, John replies, "I'm happy too."

Soon, they arrived. And they all got out of the car, John holding Joshua in his strong grasp.

Joshua leans forward and pounds his fists on the door to knock on it.

"Good job," John tells him softly, smiling. "You're so strong."

-

Freddie answered the door himself, rather than have one of the other people in the house do it, and the nearly-two-year-old instantly reached for Freddie's open arms.

"Hi, cutie pie! Give me hugs!" Freddie says as he takes Joshua from John's arms.

"He has been excited to see you!" John says happily.

"Oh, yes. I'm your favourite uncle, aren't I?" Freddie asks the baby.

"Yeah!" Joshua says with a cheeky grin, whether that answer was true or not.

All of the kids liked being there due to Freddie but also heavily because he had several cats; Oscar, Delilah, Tiffany and Goliath.

Freddie kisses Joshua's head and looks at the other kids. "Hello, darlings. Come in."

Laura gives Freddie a hug, her arms barely at his waist, and she smiles shyly.

"Kitties!" Joshua shouts eagerly, as two cats now hurry away from the noise.

"I love kitties!" Laura says as she runs after then with Joshua following.

"Don't run after them! They are scared! They'll come back over to visit." John says to the two youngest kids.

"That's right. They get shy." Freddie agrees, knowing how excited the kids get about the cats. He closes the door.

"Oh." Joshua seems to understand as he stops following his sister.

When the kids aren't running, Delilah and Goliath do come back over, like John has said.

"Be gentle with the cats please. Gentle." John says to the trio of kids and each of them pet a cat.

"They always love the cats, it's the first thing they go to when they get here." Freddie laughs.

Robert was standing there, a little unsure what to do.

"Wow, your kids really look like you, darling." Freddie tells John with a bit of emotion in his tone.

"You think so? Sometimes I don't see it." John says proudly as he watches the kids with the cats.

"I do think so. Some of the faces they make in particular remind me of you." Freddie says to the bassist.

Joshua had managed to pick up Tiffany and he shows Freddie how well he was holding the cat.
