Noon arrived with the house in an unusual state of calm. Hoseok, still processing the strange turn of events, found himself at the edge of the couch in the living room. The room, filled with laughter and the flickering light of the TV, seemed to contrast sharply with the tense atmosphere of the day. Jin had surprisingly come to fetch him from his room, inviting him to join their "family time."

Hoseok, his mind reeling, had been reluctant. The twins, Lila and Noah, were asleep after a bout of crying, their exhaustion evident from their earlier demands for Hoseok’s attention. Hoseok had been surprised, and somewhat unsettled, when the brothers didn't subject him to their usual cruelty. Instead, Jin had simply asked him to join them for a movie marathon.

Now, Hoseok sat barely on the couch, keeping his distance from the six brothers. He absentmindedly ate popcorn, his eyes flickering over the TV screen. The brothers were engrossed in the comedy, laughing heartily. For the first time, Hoseok witnessed genuine amusement from them, a stark contrast to their typical mockery and cruelty. This genuine laughter, so foreign to him, made him feel uneasy.

As Hoseok tried to push away his discomfort, he sighed and shook his head. Although the movie was amusing, he struggled to relax enough to truly enjoy it. He could manage a small smile or a silent laugh, but his discomfort remained palpable.

Namjoon, observing Hoseok’s awkward position on the edge of the couch, noticed how close he was to falling off. With a sigh, he called out, “Hoseok, come sit in the middle with us.”

Hoseok hesitated, politely declining. But Jungkook’s voice cut in firmly. “It’s not a request, it’s an order.”

With a resigned sigh, Hoseok stood and moved towards the middle of the couch, where the brothers made space for him. As he squeezed himself into the tight space between them, he felt an unexpected vulnerability, shrinking under the intense focus of their presence.

Yoongi, sitting beside Hoseok, sighed and gently caressed his cheek. “Can’t you go a day without testing our patience?” he asked softly.

Hoseok met Yoongi’s gaze, a mixture of confusion and resignation in his eyes. Yoongi leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to Hoseok’s lips. He lingered there for a moment before pulling away, guiding Hoseok to lean against him. Hoseok felt a sharp breath escape him as Yoongi rested his head on Hoseok’s shoulder, his hand gently brushing through Hoseok’s hair.

The touch felt too intimate, too confusing, especially given their recent interactions. Hoseok’s discomfort grew as he tried to process this new, strange behavior. Then, he felt another hand wrap around his shoulders, and a head settled on his own. The familiar scent confirmed it was Jimin. Hoseok turned slightly, meeting Jimin’s gaze. Jimin offered a faint smile, then booped Hoseok’s nose playfully before resting his head back on Hoseok’s shoulder.

Hoseok gulped, his mind racing. This was all too strange. Were they drunk? Under some spell? He couldn’t understand why they were acting this way.

Hoseok sighed deeply and rested his head back on Yoongi’s chest, closing his eyes. Despite the warmth and closeness, it felt wrong. The other brothers, still wrapped around each other, made no move to disturb the unusual peace. As the TV continued to play in the background, everyone drifted into sleep, holding onto each other in a surreal moment of calm.
