Forth's P.O.V.
I woke up startled as my butt made contact with the floor. I looked up, surprised to see an angry Beam looking back at me. To say I was confused was an understatement.
"I said pick a room, NOT come sleep in my bed." he almost yelled. I grabbed my throbbing head, covering my ears.
"Not so loud. I didn't realize I got in the same bed as you." I said as quietly as I could. He looked at me, his eyes narrowed while he scanned my face.
"This is a king bed. The least you could've done is stay on your side." he said, annoyed.
"Sorry, I didn't even know. But really, you had to literally kick me out?" I said, getting annoyed, too.
"I was startled." He said, and I rolled my eyes.
"Please, like it's the first time you've woken up to someone you don't know beside you." I said, and he threw a pillow straight to my face.
"Beammm, you're not helping the hangover." I groaned, feeling the headache stronger. He just laughed.
"You deserve it." he said, standing up from the bed.
"How are you not hangover?" I questioned, watching him walk out of the room to look for something.
"I stopped drinking before you." he shrugged, coming back with some water and painkillers. I got up from the floor and sat on the bed. Finally, I took my time to admire the room. It looked like a regular hotel room. Until you looked closely and you could see little stuff that belonged to Beam. Like a photo of him with Phana and Kit.
"Is this your room?" I asked, turning to look at him. He was rummaging through the drawers, looking for something. He stopped to look at me, confused.
"I already told you that." he said.
"No, but I mean, like, you live here? Is this penthouse your home?" I asked, and he sighed.
"Yeah, I own the hotel, so I decided to stay here." he said and I was surprised and impressed.
"Aren't you a med student?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me.
"Yeah, but this is a family business. I manage it in my free time. Don't know what I will do when I graduate." he answered, finally finding what he was looking for since he closed all the drawers.
"Oh wow, guess there's a lot we don't know about each other. Do you bring..." He cut me off.
"What is this 20 questions? No, I don't bring anyone here, especially not drunk one-night stands." he said, then proceeded to throw me some clothes. "Take a bath, you stink. There are fresh towels and everything you need in the bathroom." After that, he walked out of the room. I do stink I'm still in yesterday's clothes. I went to the bathroom to freshen up. When I was done I felt better than when I woke up. The headache was almost gone. I found Beam in the living room, where we drank yesterday. Everything was cleaned already. For a second I felt guilty about the mess we left yesterday.
"I ordered breakfast. It should be up in a minute." he said, putting his attention back on his laptop.
"I should go." I said sheepishly, looking around. I have no business being here and invading his space.
"So that's it? You're not going to do anything about Wayo and Phana?" He diverted his attention to me for a second, looking at me with an eyebrow raised. I sat down beside him. Where is this coming from?
"You prohibited me from making a scene, remember?" I said, and he shrugged.
"You were never one to just follow orders, or am I wrong?" he challenged instinctively I moved closer before responding.
"If you want me to break Phanas face, just say so. It will take me a second." I whispered, his face only inches away from mine. It sounded like a joke, but we both knew it wasn't.
"Always choosing violence." he said, shaking his head and making some distance between us.
"It makes things easier sometimes. Not sure if I should waste my time anyway. I don't even want Wayo anymore. He can have him for all I care. I'm just mad about the cheating." I said, and he was in thought for a second.
"Does he know you know?" Beam asked, shutting down his laptop turning his attention back to me.
"I don't think so. Someone sent me the pictures, and I just came here. I was so mad I wanted to break your friend's face." I said.
"Interesting." he mumbled. Before he could say anything else, we were interrupted by our breakfast arriving. We sat down at the table. Beam had ordered a lot, and I was happy to see a few of my favorite dishes. We ate in silence since Beam was lost in thought.
"Do you want to let them know you know?" He asked.
"What do you have in mind?" I questioned.
"Not much, but I can let us into their room." He said with a mischievous smile, and I just laughed.
"Well, I won't deny that offer. Since you won't let me fight it out here. I guess letting them know they've been caught will be fun." I said.
"Perfect, what do you want to do?" he asked, and I shrugged.
"I only have the pictures as evidence. So I guess printing them and leaving them in their room?" I said, unsure.
"Let's do it. I can set everything up." He said.
"Great, I will send you the pictures." I said. He nodded, and I took my phone, forwarding the pictures to Beam. They had been sent anonymously from someone here in the lobby. In the pictures, they are kissing and holding hands while it looks like they were checking in to the hotel. I stared at Beam, who didn't blink twice when seeing the photos. He was just continued typing on his phone.
"They are not in the room. When the photos are printed, they will let us know," said Beam, and I nodded in agreement, getting lost in thought again. I didn't even take a second to wonder where the pictures came from. There must have been from someone who knew me. Someone who was here at the same time. But why would he betray his friend for me if it was him? Something here just doesn't make sense. Or could it be? No, I don't think so that's ridiculous right? But it makes sense...
