October 31
I was doing my makeup for the Halloween party when Blue walked in. "Mom, Halle's mom is coming to get me in a few minutes," she said.
I glanced at her. "Where are you going?"
"Tamia's having a party."
I scrunched my face. "I didn't know about that."
She sighed. "Mom, please don't."
I paused, then asked, "Can I trust you?"
She looked at me and said, "Yes."
I watched her for a second before nodding. "Alright, just be careful."
She smiled, "I will,"
As Blue was about to leave, I called out, "Oh, wait-what happened at school today?"
She hesitated for a second, then shrugged. "Nothing."
I gave her a look, clearly not buying it. "Nicki called me."
That got her attention. She paused, narrowing her eyes a bit, then smirked. "Oh, so you and Ms. Nicki talk a lot now?"
I rolled my eyes, seeing right through her. "Nice try, Blue. You're trying to distract me, and it's not going to work. What happened at school?"
She sighed, clearly annoyed that I wasn't letting it go. "Mom, it was nothing serious. Just some drama. You know how it is."
I crossed my arms. "Yeah, I know how drama goes. But if Nicki called, it wasn't nothing."
Blue looked a little frustrated, then finally said, "Some girl was trying to start something. I handled it, though."
I raised an eyebrow. "Handled it how?"
She met my eyes, staying firm. "I didn't fight or anything, if that's what you're thinking. I just talked it out."
As Blue started to leave, I called after her, "Okay, so what about the part when she asked if you had sex?"
She stopped and turned around, looking confused.
"What?"
I gave her a look. "Are you having sex, Blue?"
Her eyes went wide. "No, Mom! I'm not!"
I gave her a more serious look this time, narrowing my eyes slightly. "Are you sure?"
Blue nodded confidently. "I'm positive, Mom."
I exhaled, feeling a bit of relief but still cautious. "Alright. But listen, if you're ever thinking about it-like, really considering it-can you at least let me know? We should talk about it first."
