Onika Maraj Lauren's Home
October 25, 2025
"Babies?" Kam stood in front of me with his little arms raised, looking all confused as he asked about his cousins. His serious face made it even cuter.
"With their momma," I told him, trying to keep it simple.
He scrunched his face, clearly not getting it. "You mama."
Lauren and I both burst out laughing because there was no way we could explain all that to a three-year-old in a way that would make any sense. I let the conversation drop and just watched as he climbed onto the couch next to me, focused on his iPad.
"Here, sis." Lauren walked over, handing me a glass of wine before sitting across from us.
"Thanks," I muttered, taking a sip.
Lauren gave me that look, raising an eyebrow. "So, what's going on? Why are you here without the babies and not with her?" she asked, her voice full of curiosity.
I kept my eyes on Kam, watching him tap away at his game, trying to avoid her question. But then I felt something hit my arm-the remote.
"Bitch, that hurt,"
"Bitch?" Kam immediately repeated.
"Kameron, don't repeat after your auntie, or I'll put both of y'all outside and lock the door," Lauren warned, giving me the side-eye. I couldn't help but laugh, trying to lighten the mood.
"TT not gonna let nothin' happen to you outside. We'll have fun anyway," I told Kam, giving him a wink.
He giggled, but I could still feel Lauren's stare burning into the side of my head, waiting for me to answer her original question. I really didn't feel like talking about it, though. I was over the whole situation, tired of explaining it.
"Onika Tanya..." she said.
I glanced at her, rolling my eyes. "Lauren Nicole..."
She gave me a look that could kill. "Girl, you're about to piss me off, and I'm so serious," she said, getting up from the couch.
She walked over to Kam and handed him his headphones so he could watch his videos without hearing our conversation.
I sighed, knowing she wasn't gonna let up until I spilled, but I really didn't have the energy for this right now.
"Thank you, Mommy," his cute little voice said. Ugh, I can't wait until my boys are old enough to start talking. I might cry.
"You're welcome, baby," she said, sitting back down. "So, what's going on?"
"She broke up with me," I blurted out. It hurts to say it out loud-I didn't want that, but I know what I did was wrong.
