It was barely 6 AM, and the house was quiet except for the soft sounds of Nicki moving around the kitchen. I was hanging up decorations, trying to get set up for Blue's birthday. My mind was all over the place, thinking about how fast time had flown.

Nicki looked up at me from the stove, smiling. "How do you feel?"

I glanced over at her. "About what?"

She grinned, teasing a little. "You got a 15-year-old today."

Fifteen. My baby girl was 15 today. I felt this weird mix of pride and sadness wash over me. It's hard to believe. I remember the day she was born so clearly-how tiny she was, how I held her close, feeling so much love and a little fear too.

It feels like just yesterday she was running around, holding my hand, her laugh filling the house.

"She's growing up too fast," I mumbled, mostly to myself. "It's crazy... feels like I blinked, and now she's almost an adult."

Nicki smiled softly, still stirring the eggs. "She's always gonna be your baby," she said.

I nodded, a lump forming in my throat. "Yeah... always."

Time's moving way too quick, and I just want to hold onto these moments with her, but I know I can't stop it. She's becoming her own person, and it's beautiful and bittersweet at the same time.

Nicki looked up from the stove with a soft smile.

"You get to do it all over again, though."

I couldn't help but smile back. I walked over to her, wrapping my arms around her waist, and kissed her lips gently.

"I'm happy to be doing it with you," I whispered, feeling the warmth of her body against mine.

She looked down for a second, her voice quieter when she said, "What if I'm not good at it?"

I pulled back just enough to look at her, my hands still resting on her hips. "Baby, there's no handbook or guide to parenting," I said, my voice soft but steady. "No one gets it perfect. You're going to mess up. We both will."

She bit her lip, her eyes still full of doubt. I cupped her face gently, making her look at me.

"But we'll figure it out together. You're not in this alone. I've got your back, and you've got mine. And that's all we need."

Nicki leaned against the counter, still looking a bit unsure. "How do you think Blue's gonna react to me being pregnant?" she asked, her voice quiet.

I smiled without missing a beat. "She's gonna be excited as hell. She's been wanting this, always talking about a baby brother. Trust me, she's gonna be happy"
