Beyonce Knowles Federal Bureau Headquarters
February 14, 2025
I sat back in my chair, rubbing my temples as James shook his head.
"I don't like that Greg is lead of this whole operation now," he muttered, clearly frustrated.
"Me either," Yolanda chimed in, crossing her arms. "It's all over the place, and he's just giving us loose ends."
I sighed, feeling the tension in the room. "Angela seems to think it's best I don't know everything, but that doesn't mean I'm stopping my own investigation."
Kelly leaned back in her chair, visibly irritated.
"I dropped off the damn team. I'm not working with his ass," she said bluntly.
Before I could respond, a knock on the door interrupted us. Angela stepped in, her usual calm, yet commanding presence filling the room.
"Greg told me you all dropped off his team. Care to explain why?" she asked, her tone sharp, but curious.
James was the first to speak. "Greg's not to be trusted."
Yolanda nodded in agreement. "It's strange how he's always the first one at crime scenes, but never in the office. Where the hell is he going all the time?"
Angela looked around at all of us, her expression softening slightly. She walked over to me and handed me a stack of files.
"I know," she said, her tone more serious now.
We all exchanged confused glances. "What do you mean?" I asked, flipping through the files.
Angela's eyes held steady as she spoke.
"Greg is going to expose himself, and we'll be ready to catch him when he does. Beyoncé, this case is still yours. You're doing amazing." She winked at me before turning to leave, leaving the room in stunned silence.
As soon as the door closed behind her, we all burst into laughter, high-fiving like kids. Angela was such a boss bitch.
Kelly leaned forward, eyeing the files in my hand. "So, what did she give you?"
I flipped through the stack, stopping at the file on top. "Death report of William Rhodes and some information on Greg."
I pulled the file on Greg and handed it over to James. "I want you to follow him, talk to his people, and see what we can find. Anything suspicious, I want to know."
Beyoncé leaned in. "Let's get back on track."
Yolanda sighed in relief. "Thank God."
I turned to her. "Landa, I want you to do something for me."
