"Okay, Papa, Mommy is sorry," I cooed, trying to calm Onyx down as I gave him and Brenny a bath.

They had an appointment this morning, and I was already juggling the chaos of getting them ready.

I had just moved back into my own house last week. It felt like the right time. I loved staying with my sister, but I needed to give her space back.

Plus, two crying babies were enough to disturb anyone's peace, even though she swore she didn't mind.

Onyx kept wailing, his little face scrunched up in frustration, while Brenny just stared at him, like he was annoyed by all the noise. I couldn't help but laugh.

"Stop looking at your brother like that, little boy," I teased Brenny, shaking my head. After finishing up their bath, I carefully wrapped them both in towels, carrying them to the bed.

As I laid them down to get them dressed, I had a moment of realization-handling two babies wasn't as overwhelming as it had been in the beginning.

It was still tough, don't get me wrong, but somehow, it was starting to feel a little easier. Like I was getting the hang of it, one day at a time.

My phone rang, and I glanced over to see it was Beyoncé. I answered and put it on speaker so I could keep getting the twins ready.

"Yes?" I said, a little distracted.

"Hey, what time is the appointment again?" she asked, and my heart dropped. I don't know why, but I didn't expect her to remember.

"Uhh... you're coming?" I asked, caught off guard.

"Those are my children. Why are you acting so shocked?" she said, chuckling. I faked a laugh in response.

"Oh, I guess I was just stuck on being the one taking them, you know, since everything happened, so I wasn't sure you'd remember," I admitted.

"I do. But now that I think about it... were you going to remind me, or were you planning to play single mother around here?" she asked. I couldn't tell if she was joking or serious. I didn't want to get into an argument, so I kept things light.

"No, I was going to remind you... it just slipped my mind," I said quickly. "But the appointment's in 30 minutes. I'm getting the boys ready now."

"Do you need help?" she asked, and I could hear a softness in her voice.

"No, I've been doing this, Bey," I said, maybe with a little more edge than I intended.

"You going to keep throwing that in my face? It's like I'm trying to heal and move on, to fix things, but you won't let me," she said, her tone shifting.
