Smiling Critters continues on...

Chapter 585

Catnap was walking through the factory looking for Killy when all the sudden he heard Dogday's voice coming up from behind him. He looked back and saw Dogday running from Boxy Boo. "CATNAP PLEASE HELP ME!" as Dogday screamed this though Catnap looked conflicted. Boxy Boo stared at Catnap daring him to choose wrong, but Catnap did the unthinkable... he grabs Dogday and holds him for Boxy Boo to take. The other Smiling Critters, Mommy Longlegs, Bunzo, Shade, and Gloom all witnessed it. Catnap turned towards the others as Dogday screamed for help. Catnap froze seeing everyone's faces, the look of betrayal wasn't hard to miss as Bobby and Hoppy looked at Catnap, Bobby had tears in her eyes as well as Craftycorn. Catnap was about to explain himself when he remembered... he didn't have a voice box for that. "Catnap... what did you do?" asked Hoppy as they watched Dogday get dragged away by Boxy. Mommy was about to speak up but Killy pushed past everyone and grabs Catnap. "Let's go" he urges as he, Boxy Boo, and Catnap all walk off leaving everyone stunned at the betrayal. "We need to leave... now." said Bobby looking at the others with a determined look even though she had clear tears in her eyes. "Obviously Catnap won't be coming with us, and... I'm not sure what happened to PJ, but we have to go now" Bobby said as she looked at her friends. Mommy tried to nod but she couldn't "you all go... I'll buy you some time in case someone tries to stop you guys" she said as everyone looked at her "what... you're not coming with us?" Bunzo asked a bit upset. Mommy smiles and cups Bunzo's cheeks "it's alright, but I don't want you all hurt while you escape, it's better this way" she explains as Bunzo looks ready to cry. "I'll never forget you.." he said as Mommy kisses his forehead. Hoppy holds Shade a bit tighter but the fox doesn't comment or try to escape. Shade and Gloom both feel sad that they're leaving Small Frown behind, but it's for the best... they don't even know if he's alive or not. "Everyone ready?" asked Hoppy with a bit of hesitation in their voice, but the other critters nod their heads. "We got this" Bobby said as she held Bubba and Crafty's hooves and stump-for-a-hand. Picky holds Gloom a bit tighter but not much to hurt them. Kickin' who had been silent this entire time just nods his head as he leans against the wall. He really wanted to go and save Dogday, but knew that it was too dangerous as he had Boxy Boo, Catnap, and Killy Willy with him. "Let's go..." he said with a small voice, his smile betrayed his emotion of fear that wasn't evident in his voice either. Bunzo nods his head and holds his symbols tightly in his paws, he was feeling scared, what if something went wrong?
