Smiling Critters continues on...

"Alright everyone, you all know what to do, correct?" Lively speaks up as he drags himself to the lift to put the Smiling Critters to the surface to get their upgrades. "Yes, we know, and we will get freedom if we do this, right?" asked a hopeful Bobby Bearhug to which Lively just smiles "sure... that's exactly what you'll get if you don't mess up your parts, just find the scientists, ask for the upgraded suits, and then you'll never have to be down here again" Lively says with a small smile hoping it was convincing enough for them, which to his credit it was. "Great! I can't wait to go back to my art!" Crafty said a bit tiredly than intended, but Bobby and Bubba just smiled at their girlfriend happy to see she was in better spirits. "Let's just hope that you all stay on the right path, and don't mess this up for yourselves" Lively said in a serious voice that got the critter's attention. "What do you mean?" asks Kickin a little bit further behind everyone. "Let's say you'll be watched over, and we won't say who's watching you... but they're going to be making sure you do what you're told to do, and not mess up" Lively said in a bored tone now as he dragged himself to the lift. "Alright everyone, you all have your jobs to do to stay out of here, now do them... unless you want back in the cells" Lively threatened them all causing the critters to gulp and nod. The Smiling Critters got on the lift and they all went back up to the surface to fulfill their duties. "I don't like this guys... this doesn't seem good, plus we haven't seen Catnap, Hoppy, or Dogday..." Picky said as the lift got closer to the surface. "Yeah, but we don't even want to find Dogday, do we?" asked Kickin with his back towards the other critters. "What do you mean, he's still our leader" Bobby said stepping closer to Kickin and putting her paw on his shoulder. Kickin shook her paw off "don't touch me right now Bobby... I'm not in the mood for hugs, that won't be helping anything" Kickin said in a somewhat surprisingly sad tone. "Kickin... what's wrong?" asked Bubba also walking over causing Picky and Crafty to also go over to the yellow chicken. "Guys, I'm fine don't worry" he spoke but his voice cracked and he winced. "Kickin' don't lie to us... we're your friends" Bubba tried to get through to Kickin' but the chicken wasn't having it, he turned on his heels towards them with an angry expression "just like Dogday?!" he yelled at his friends causing them to back up a bit in fear. "Kickin please..." Bobby tried to speak but Kickin just scoffs "Dogday lied to us... he... he... was our friend... and now..." Kickin couldn't finish the sentence as he started to cry into his wings. Bobby Bearhug, Bubba Bubbaphant, Picky Piggy, and Craftycorn all crowd around Kickin giving him a supportive group hug as the lift slowly makes it to the top.
