Luna paced back and forth in front of the opening to the outside. Two days had passed, and it was complete silence. She had been spending most of her time in the control room reading her heritage history and watching her father's favorite movie, 'The Last Unicorn'.
When she wasn't studying or watching television, she was there just observing and waiting. She wasn't sure what kept bringing her back to the opening. Luna just wanted one of her parents there. Fex hadn't spoken to her, really keeping to himself with Tillian, his brute Yeti. The silence was beginning to cause boredom, and the curiosity of the teen was growing. The teen looked at the line her father had made years ago. She wasn't allowed to pass it, and she never had.
Luna glanced around the hall before taking a step forward. She was cautious. This area of the ship was foreign, and off limits. Her eyes scanned over the suits they had acquired over the years. Raven and Osa both had throughly went over how to put one on with her in case of an emergency, but she had never put one to use. The teen reached her hand out to touch the mask, only to quickly be interrupted by a sudden bang against the wall.
A loud bark came from behind Luna. A low snarl following, 'Hey! Get away from that, Luna!' He growled. The Irinaut was walking at a fast pace, pointing and throwing is hands in the air. His canine like claws clicked loudly against the floor, 'What the hell are you doing?!'
Luna was startled by the sudden bang. The teen immediately let go of the mask, her heart was racing in her chest. She quickly stepped out from behind the line, "I was just looking, Fex. It's not a big deal. I'm not allowed to look at the mask?" Though, in her mind, part of her wanted to put that on, and go outside.
Fex shook his head as he made his way over with haste. The Irinaut didn't step over the line himself, simply looking at the items across it before turning his attention to Luna. He sneered his lip before letting out a deep huff, 'Let me see your hands.'
The teen tilted her head; letting out a soft laugh, "Fex I didn't get the spores on me. They clean-"
Fex suddenly leaned down and grabbed her wrist before lifting it up. His eyes scanned over one hand, before immediately moving to the next. The Irinaut scanned her palms closely, clearly making sure nothing was on her, 'There is a reason your father put it there.' A low growl came from him before he let go of her, 'You can look from this side of the line. You do not touch those masks without gloves, or the equipment unless told otherwise. Now go.' Fex gestured towards the control room, 'Go read, do something, wash your hands, but stay away from this opening or I swear I will lock you in the control room until your parents are home.'
Luna gasped at the lunge and Fex's grip of her wrists. She had never seen him so angry with her. Though he was forceful he didn't hold her wrists roughly, but firmly. The Irinaut had zero intentions of letting go until he was done inspecting. As he spoke, he was obviously frustrated, worried even. She hadn't had him act like this towards her before, and the teen was quite surprised by it. As he mentioned locking her in the control room, she rolled her eyes, "Go ahead and lock me in there. It's not like you've been talking to me anyways."
Fex visibly tensed at her comment. He hissed out, 'Luna, what is there to speak of? What can you and I speak of?'
Luna's eyes brightened. The teen shrugged her shoulders, "Anything Fex! I know nothing about you and we've been in this ship together since I was born. You hide in your room from everyone or you leave with Papa to go look for parts. That's like Zio-"
'Enough.' Fex growled lowly, 'My job does not require speaking to you, young queen. You do not need to know me.'
Luna shook her head, "That's not true. A queen is supposed to know her hive and her people." She swallowed, seeming nervous to stand up to Fex, "I mean, what's the point in living if you don't even try to have others a part of it?" She pointed towards the control room, "I've read files, I've seen what Papa has allowed, and what I do know is a queen's knights are supposed to be some of her most trusted Class A's. If you are to be my knight, I have to know who you are. I'm not like Papa. I can't see what's inside."
Fex's leg bounced as his talons curled into the floor as he used it as a brace. The male rolled his shoulders. His blood was pumping, and he found himself agitated. He could tell she was upset, but he didn't know what to say. The Irinaut huffed, an echoing hum came from him, 'I do not even know who I am, young queen.'
The teen stood in silence. It felt like was impossible to get through to. She didn't really know what to say to him, "Fex, could you not just sit in the control room with me? Anything? We can watch a movie or read. I think mom put some fish in the freezer. Just, could you not hide off in your room? Please?"
Fex whined out, a low groan following, 'I will think about it, okay? Just, go wash your hands, please.' He turned and quickly walked off.
Tillian, who was lying down the hall, lifted his head and grunted, a low snarl came from the beast as Fex approached. This wasn't unusual in the Yeti. The beast was extremely aggressive, and had little control over itself. Much like Fex. The beast's eye was locked on Luna. When Fex was upset, so was the beast.
As Fex walked past Tillian, he leaned down to the beast, a low hiss came from him, 'Guard that hole. She does not leave.' He gestured towards the opening, and the Yeti wasted now time walking a few steps closer and thumping back down on the floor, it's eye locked on Luna, and the hole.
Luna's heart sank was he walked off. She felt a rage inside her. She turned back towards the opening, then back at Fex and Tillian. The teen looked down before walking off into the control room, and plopping down in front of the computers, and opening up her lessons Osa allowed her to read. Her eyes often scanned over the restricted, and she often wondered when she would be allowed to see those notes.
She simply pulled open the files on Irinaut behavior. One thing her father had stressed she read. Luna slouched in her chair; a heavy sigh escaping her, "Alright." She mumbled before her head rested against the chair. Luna found herself moving off the lesson, and opening a file with photos of Osa and Raven, and herself. She wanted to be helping them so badly, but it felt near impossible at this point. After the stunt she pulled, the hybrid knew he wasn't going to leave it unwatched now.
'Mom, Papa, come home soon.'
