Chapter Seventy-Eight: The Lost Unicorn

Osa was throwing his bag on his back; his hood was pulled over his head. Everyone had calmed down with their weapons pointed at the doors. He heard Raven's thoughts, and he believed her to be right. They wanted them cornered, they wanted them trapped, "We are going to follow Lou!" The Irinaut stood next to him and Zio.

Fex had taken his position on Tillian. He couldn't fight if he wanted to at this point. His wounds didn't want to heal as they normally would, and his entire body just felt tired. After that blood loss, anyone would just be prepared to sleep. He braced a gun in his hand before pointing it at the doors, 'Enough talk!' He barked out, 'Get us the fuck out of here!'

Lou's eye glowed brightly. The male roared out, 'Listen! We have a few small scouting ships connected to a door that leads into the control room. I have one that is connected to me. We can go there and I will initiate the sequence while everyone boards the ship, but the doors will close after the sequence is complete. We MUST be inside or we will all die in here. Queen Yok is not letting us leave here alive.' Lou went to the button, his vibrant white veins glowed brightly, 'Be ready for anything.'

Sage had her gun ready. The woman didn't know what to expect. None of them did. The fact that they had gotten aboard the ship through just digging through was already causing stress.

Osa hummed, "They have a ship for us. He looked over the group, "When this door opens, follow Lou, and protect Luna." The Irinaut looked down at Sage, "You should ride with Luna and Raven."

Sage glanced at Osa before pointing her weapon at the door, "I do better on the ground, but thanks." The woman was clearly more worried about helping protect. She had herself close to Raven and Luna. Even after all these years their size always threw the woman off.

Osa nodded, and just as he turned forward, the doors flung open. The Irinaut's hands glowed as he took the lead. A loud roar came from him as those vibrant gold veins took over around his eyes. His hands glowed vibrantly as he saw the infected forcing themselves through a gap that had managed to come open from the explosion. Osa kept himself right next to Raven and Luna. He wasn't leaving their side.

Other Irinaut's could be seen fighting the infected, but most were being defensive. All clearly attempting to abandon ship, but everyone was running. The bodies of infected and fellow Irinaut's covered the floor with infected blood and their own. It was a pure massacre.

Shots began going off instantly as both Raven and Sage began to shoot at incoming infected. The Yetis were mauling through the infected as they attempted to come close, but their numbers didn't stop. The only reason they hadn't gotten through was because of the volume attempting to do so through the tear they had caused in the hull. Even Zio and Fex had guns in fear of being restrained. They had no time to get out.

"Christ I'm running low on ammo how much further?" Raven was frantically reloading as she kept shooting. The infected were coming at her and Luna exclusively, and it was only then Raven had realized it, "O-Osa they know it's her! We need to move, n-now!"

The teen clung to Prune with her eyes shut tightly, but as a bark came from Lou and the team began to run another direction, she found herself glancing up to see they were moving towards the control room.

Sage was running behind and all the while shooting at the crawling and running infected, "They're catching up! Osa where is the door!?"

Osa suddenly stopped as the group continued to run forward. His hands danced with one another before a small spinning gold orb appeared. The male suddenly shot it out; killing most but slowing others. Osa quickly turned around before running back towards his family.

The hoard of vile infected were still trailing behind; climbing over top of one another and filling the ship near to the brim in attempts to get to Luna. There was no doubt they wanted her, and they were doing everything they could to get to her.
